Yes! One thing about Battle's voice type (Koloraturasoubrette), is that this voice type is known to remain very fresh even in advanced age (60+). Battle's voice is truly sublime and beautiful 💯

Such a good taste since you was a child ;) I was there, she is a total queen, a lady in all the sense of the word, her only presence made the whole theatre go crazy, marvelous voice and celestial moments

Mine too. I have been going to her recitals and orchestral apperances since the 1980s. Stunning to hear her sounding so phenomenal at this age. Very very few singers still have any voice at that age!! Love her!

I remember the riveting concert of Spirituals she gave together with Jessye Norman on TV around 1990 (found it again a few years ago here on KZbin) and those two are such amazing singers both in spirituals/folk songs and in the classical opera repertoire. I thought I was the only one who noticed! I don't think she was miked for the first couple of pieces. It sounded like she got miked up when she left the stage the first time. Regardless, the voice was incredible and she had phenomenal stage presence! I'd rather see her miked up than anyone else today without a microphone.

I was also there in person. No doubt, the voice is as strong as ever and no signs of regression exist. The minor critique I have is regarding the drawn out pauses and stops. Those spaces should've been occupied with visuals of timeless performances by Battle at the Met Opera.

@@Broadwaybuff-pi1qg It has nothing to do with her voice or what she sounds like. It is the ambient sound and echo that surrounds her voice that (I will be prudent what I write) gives the impression she is miked
