In this video, I follow up on some of the concepts I discussed in the video I recently posted: How to use assessments in your classroom effectively. You can watch that here: • How to use assessments...
Today I answer a question from someone who wanted an example of how to reteach once we know students need more support. Hope this helps.

You're a star! Those specifics were exactly what was I looking for because those details let me check myself to see if I'm doing things right or let me know what new things I need to try, so a big bless upon you! 🙏💙 Regarding future vids: it'd be awesome if you specifically show or model how to do backwards planning to create scaffolding like t-charts, organizers, outlines, for long essay question tests because that's what I have to instruct at the adult school I work for, and it allows teenagers enroll who struggle with identifying key ideas (including the answer to the essay question) from the texts they have to read and then write about for the essay.

This is awesome! Thank you!🌸 I am currently a Para and it’s very sad and frustrating to see when teachers don’t accommodate or differentiate instruction for the special education students. And because they have been there for more than 20 years they know they can’t get fired and they get away with this. It just makes my blood boil. 😡

Hi, what kind of anchor activities do you suggest for Esl ? When I tried with something new they always need my help. The books have usually dialogues, then grammar, lexis, fùnctions and exercises in the end.

Hi there. For ESL anchor activities, try role-plays, language games, storytelling, discussion prompts, and peer teaching. These methods help practice language in a fun and engaging way and can reduce the need for constant help. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching. 😊 ~Kathy Customer Support at Kathleen Jasper LLC

Incredibly helpful. I love these types of videos on differentiation and teaching methods. Thank you so much. I have a question. Do you think the group of small students will feel negatively or have a negative reaction when they are pulled into a small group? How would you respond to this?

Great question. I would normalize differentiated instruction and make it a regular thing. You could say, "Some of you need some clarification and I want you to have that before we move forward. The rest of you work on the anchor activity and I am going to work over here with these students and fix up some concepts." Everyone in the class will eventually need some support. Most kids like working in small groups with the teacher. Hope that helps.

Thank you, Kathleen for this informative video. I have a question: Can we also give a pre test on the present topic as a sort of "anchor activity" to those who passed the assessment on the previous lesson? Thank you always😊

Yes, conducting a pre-test on the present topic can serve as a valuable anchor activity, especially for students who have already passed the assessment on the previous lesson. It reinforces their understanding and helps them to stay engaged 😊 ~Yiana Team Member at Kathleen Jasper LLC

Hello Kathleen don’t you think not all students are cut for school and that not all will grasp everything you teach? Teaching in fact is difficult
@KathleenJasperEdD

No, I do not think that. Every student can learn. Teaching is indeed challenging, and it's important to recognize that not all students learn in the same way or at the same pace. Each student brings their own unique strengths and learning styles to the classroom, and as educators, it's our responsibility to support and adapt to their individual needs.
