In this video I am going to show you Latest update on Kathmandu Fastrack or we can say Kathmandu Terai/Madhes Fastrack and reason for delay in Kathmandu Fastrack completion.
The Kathmandu Fasttrack, a highly anticipated highway project in Nepal, has faced significant delays in its construction, particularly in the Khokna area. This stagnation stems from a multitude of factors, including land acquisition issues and complexities arising from the area's religious significance.
One of the primary hurdles has been securing land ownership rights within Khokna area. The land in question houses a crucial segment of the highway, and negotiations with landowners have proven protracted. Factors like land fragmentation and disagreements over compensation have impeded swift acquisition.
Furthermore, Khokna's status as a revered religious site has introduced another layer of intricacy. The area is home to Pashupatinath, a prominent Hindu crematorium, and residents hold deep concerns regarding the project's potential impact on the sanctity of the surroundings. Addressing these sensitivities and incorporating necessary safeguards has necessitated additional time and meticulous planning.
Reason for Delay of Kathmandu Fastrack
The finalization of "Zero KM" in the Khokana area of the Kathmandu Terai Fast Track project has been facing delays due to several factors. Here's a closer look at the challenges:
1. Land Acquisition Hurdles:
• A significant hurdle is land acquisition. The project requires securing land from private owners in the Khokana area. Negotiations can be complex, and disagreements on compensation can stall progress.
• Additionally, some areas might have cultural or religious significance, requiring sensitive handling and potentially leading to delays in obtaining necessary clearances.
2. Environmental Concerns and Protests:
