Our high school went to Cedar Point for prom weekend every year. Prom was Friday night and Cedar Point was all day Sunday. My Dad's union had their annual summer picnic at Cedar Point. It''s fun, with lot's of world class coasters. It's a huge park right on Lake Erie and it's often scorching hot.

Loved Cedar Point as a kid/teen and had no problems, great times. Went again when I was 26 and it straight up nearly killed me. The rides were lovely, everything was smooth, nothing wrong with the park, but it was sort of a drizzly fall day and there were no lines. We walked onto every ride. It turns out those lines are useful. We left the park at 3pm and felt like crash victims. Fell asleep at the hotel at 5pm and slept like the dead until 9 the next morning.

Yeah, once you visit the park during a drizzle and can experience the miracle of walk-ons you'll likely realize you've got to pace yourself.

Get to the point...Cedar Point :D. Yes it is the roller coaster CAPITAL of the world, not just the country. They have 18 coasters I think now and that's not including all the other rides they have. I also think it is one of it not the safest amusement parks in the country. I used to go every year as a kid through my 20s. I advise you to get a 2-pass and stay at one of the resorts then you can have an hour in the park before it's open to the public, to ride the rides you didn't get on before. They are constantly breaking records on innovation. I recommend Millennium Force, Raptor, Iron Dragon, Maverick, Wicked Twister, Top Thrill Dragster, and Steel Vengeance to start.

An Ohio summer is basically hot and humid then it rains and by rain I mean pours and then to everyone's amazment it gets even more hot and humid then you thought possible. Winter is the direct opposite it's freezing below zero freezing then it's also icing and no one in town plows or put salt on the street correctly. In Ohio we have 2 seasons summer and winter and if we're lucky like 2 weeks of fall weather.

I'm glad they properly called it an amusement park and not a theme park.Demon Drop isn't there anymore. Magnum 220 Dax just added 20 ft to Magnum XL-200 ; ) Cedar because of an abundance of cedar trees when it was named in the the mid-19th century. well not really a lot of trees anymore but they have to plant trees elsewhere when they cut any down. A ton of celebrities, musicians and pro athletes have been there if they grew up near it like LeBron, Drew Carey, Jeff Gordon (IN) or were in Cleve or Detroit on tour or events. Talk show host Arsenio Hall worked there. yeah more than you need to know. They have 3 kiddie areas for Jimmy.
