I love Christmas Villages and go into great detail to depict a moment in the past when life was lived with a comforting sigh at the end of each day. Follow the transformation from my early videos in 2009 until the latest uploads in 2013. I collect various brands, and have a constantly expanding collection, currently we have over 210 buildings and countless accessories. OMG! I love this so much, I had started building and adding to my village, had to put things in storage. Things I had for 20 yrs, all stolen, broke my heart. It would take forever to replace everything I had, but I still miss my village. Your village is the best I've seen yet.

Hello!! WOW...where do I even begin....WOW...again W to the O to the W is all I can say!!!!! Last year I started my first ever Christmas Village at my office in remembrance and to honor my Mother...she LOVED Christmas Village Displays!!! My Mother passed away in 2012 from Cancer. In remembrance to her...here at the office on Christmas time...I decorate my reception area with a Christmas tree with plenty of ornaments as she LOVED a Christmas tree with lots of lights and ornaments on it....and last year, I did a Christmas Village....it was only 7 buildings last year. It was my very first time!!! There was a Hallmark store near my home and they were going out of business and they were selling all their items and village items at 50% to 70% off....so BAM...I got hooked and decided to do it and it was VERY SPECIAL and A LOT OF FUN I must say!!! I collect DICKENS VILLAGE and this year...YES...this year it went from 7 Christmas buildings last year...to now.....a grand total of 42 Christmas Village buildings of Dickens Village. My goal..MY GOAL is to put all 42 on a BIG Christmas Village Platform at my office..if possible. It is very addicting and a VERY fascinating hobby I must say...I will say this much...for my Mother....she is ABSOLUTELY worth it...NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!! One problem I am having is to find a Christmas Village Platform that can hold 42 Dickens Village Buildings for this Christmas season. IF ANYONE can help me out there...please give me some advice...YES...I do have plenty of accessories/trees as well in terms of people, carriages, trees, BIG Christmas Tree.....I want to make this Christmas Village be THE BEST and MOST SPECIAL for my Mother to be smiling from Heaven above....can anyone out there give me any suggestions. I have checked on line...and there is one man who said he can design and make a Christmas Village Platform that will hold all my buildings and will cost $600.00 dollars plus shipping to send to me here in Dallas, Texas. Is that a realistic and fair price for a platform of that big and kind. This village display you have made....WOW....all I can say is that whoever sees this...that individual along with others will ALL have smiles....I just hope one day I can come close to the magic you have created....wow... Your Village is Beautiful I have been doing the same thing for awhile now, but I built my villages out of boxes and my people are carved out of wood I use mirrors and Christmas lights for inside the houses and stores but yours looks better then mine. So thank you for some ideas on what I can do next.

The cars and track are the Lemax Roadway set. I found mine on EBAY. They don't come up very often though. If you find one, it is worth getting extra curved pieces with it. Other slot car sets might be something to look into.

Thank you! I have had to be very creative in where I pick up pieces. Only a small percentage were actually bought full retail. I use Ebay, Facebook sales and shopgoodwilll.

This a stunning set up. Thank you for sharing. I do a Halloween display and get a lot of ideas from looking at the Christmas displays posted on KZbin....it makes me think outside the box. I have the Lemax track cars and they add a lot to the display...I have issues keeping them running. Any hints as to what I may be doing wrong? They will travel around the track for a bit then stop...a little push gets them going again but not for long. Again, thank you for sharing. I am hoping I will be able to post my village for 2016.

+Marlene Mitchell Than Hi Marlene, I'm glad you liked it. I too have a problem with the slot cars. I currently have blue car that seems to run no matter what, a police car that stalls all the time, and a red car that is slower than the blue and always gets rear-ended by the blue car. I have been looking for replacements. Keeping the track as level as possible helps.I hope too find more curved track for next years display and expand a bit. I could not put up the village this year due to a two year old in the house. I have a very very small snow village above the fireplace where my Christmas in the city is usually set up. I may put together a video of trial scenes I do when I take it down each year and possibly add some comparison shots of how the village has evolved., as well as the tiny village of 2015. My Halloween village on KZbin is very small, it takes up the top of the fireplace. I hope you post yours, let me know, I would love to see it.

Reading all the comment here. I think crowded is good. Just as long as it is thought out. I'm pretty sure crowded village just takes a little bit longer that's all. I'll say it again. AWESOME display.

First i wanted to say AMAZING job.. It shows this is a labor of love and the countless hours of work you have put into this.... I was wondering if you could share how you got the "cars" to be moving? is that a set or track? etc?? I put together this year. for the first time, a Disney Christmas Village and would love to add movement of vehicles and buses to mine as well.

I just love your village videos! I am a new collector, this will be my 2nd year collecting. It all started with the "Original Snow Village: Gothic Farmhouse," I bought at the Goodwill for 14.99 last year. As you know, these are addicting, but I love doing it! Watching your video gives me ideas. I also have limited space, and I like how you incorporated non-expensive items. It's awesome how you uploaded videos so your hard work, time and of course money can be appreciated! How long have you been collecting?

I started collecting in 2008. It all started with a Kohl's three store building and three- part apartment house. I liked their look and wanted them for the top of the fireplace. I have been picking up pieces and there ever since. I buy on ebay, at flea markets, garage sales, etc. I rarely pay full price. I look at everyday things and think how can I use this in the village.You have too get creative as the village grows. This year I bought too many items to display My 2014 village is 99% done, but it ended up very crowded in spots. I'm a little disappointed. but maybe I am being too critical. I will have to see what KZbin viewers think. Everyone liked the 2012 village, have you seen that one? Do you video tape yours?

+MasMash After picking up various exciting new pieces throughout this year, I unfortunately was only able to do a small area above our fireplace due to a 2 year old living with us right now. I may take a few pictures. I am thinking of adding them to a best of video along with adding never before scenes created/experimented with when I take the villages down. Next year will be the year!

There's certainly a lot of detail in your village; how many years did it take to reach that level? Also, I think the key to a good village is being timeless...so with that in mind, I would personally avoid any brand names. Having a gas station, for example, is a good thing - just don't have it be Texaco or Phillips 66. By the same token, a coffee shop is also good, but don't have it be a Starbucks. Brand names tend to date things, so unless you're aiming to recreate a certain historical period, I'd avoid using them.

Personally, I loved seeing the name brand stores mixed in (BTW, I live in a small town and we still have a Phillips 66...and its still full service). I've watched this 3x already and I still see something I didn't see before. I love how you had such diverse areas and they all came together as one huge city. I would definiitely pay admission to see this. Loved the music and now....time to hit the repeat button!!!

Thank you Diane! I love adding the name brands. I am fond of Phillip 66 and actually purchased a retro inflatable Phillip 66 Dino as I had as a child. I have expanded out into Halloween and Easter as well. I will be posting a 4th of July Village later this week. Check out the later villages they really grew exponentially.
