Hey ladies! Miljenko Matejevic “Mike” is the lead singer; he also did the singing part for Mark Wahlberg in the movie “Rock Star” as well “We all die young”. Another of their massive hits was “She’s Gone”. Mike had a terrible accident on stage, he was as ascending a light tower that was improperly secured and it fell crushing his throat, and causing a traumatic brain injury. He had to learn to sing all over again. The drummer John Fowler had since passed from a brain aneurysm….RIP my brutha!

Finally!!! Miljenko Matijević is the best vocalist ever! When touring for their second album, on Halloween night 1992, a 1,000# lighting truss fell hitting Mili in the back of his head smashing his face into the stage floor. It broke his nose, jaw, cheekbone, opened the back of his head and gave him traumatic brain injury. This took him years to recover. Their song “Can’t Stop Me Lovin’ You” is also a great song and of course “She’s Gone”. Thanks!

Steelheart made it late to the 80's hairband era. They weren't as big as the other hair bands were. Then Grunge took over. They have a couple of good songs "She's Gone" "Everybody Loves Eileen :"Every hair band had to write a rock ballad to get radio airplay, a video played on MTV, boost record sells

Hairband era? I'm a fan and listen to rockbands since 1970 after I discovered Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath & Led Zeppelin in this magic year, but wtf are hairbands? As far as I remember, about 99% of the rock musicians had hair ;)

After all these years, Mike Matijevic still has his pipes. And his hair. And his looks. He is a very, very fortunate man 🙂Steelheart still make the occasional record. The operative word being "occasional". As in, it doesn't happen very often. But it DOES happen! For the casual listener, the really classic records would be the first two: "Steelheart" (1990), from which this song is taken, and "Tangled in reins" (1992).

Hello ladies glad to see all you looking healthy and happy! Saw them in 1991 in Southern CA and that mans voice, I swear it cracked the foundation of the venue maybe a couple of windows! Of FYI; theres a movie that came out in 2001 called "Rockstar" with Mark Walberg and Jennifer Aniston. The voice that is the singing part for Mark was done by Miljenko the singer for Steelheart.🎼🤘🌹🌹🌹

Miljenko is absolutely an amazing vocalist for sure. Another amazing vocalist is Geoff Tate of queensryche. Check out the live performance of take hold of the flame from Tokyo Japan 1984. Insane vocals in the 80's were common.

Last year, Millie released a reprise version of this song called "Angel Eyes", a duet w/ his daughter. He was still touring last I heard last September though he had a minor stroke prior to that. Also, check out the live acoustic version of "She's Gone."

New subscriber here. Great reaction from you guys, y’all have great taste in music. I have a song request tho, it’s a song that’s been very special to me ever since I first heard it nearly 20 years ago. It was absolute ear candy and much needed heart medicine at the time and I had a beautiful heavenly experience while listening to it for the first time. It’s called Been Your Fool by the hair band Tattoo Rodeo. They came out around the very early 90s and barely received any radio play yet they still managed to have a music video for their only single which was Been Your Fool. The band themselves are the descendants of their earlier band which was called White Sister. They didn’t have much success mainly because of the bad timing in which they emerged onto the scene when grunge was really starting to take off. Omgosh you ladies are just beyond awesome! Yes this man can sing. Please check out the album this came from. There’s a lot of great songs. “SHES GONE”. And an overlooked one called “Everybody loves Aileen”. Go deep down this rabbit hole k. What you’re gonna find also, is a horrible accident happened. A huge metal structure collapsed onto him on stage one night. He suffered horrible, Almost life ending injuries. And brain trauma. Also he did 90% vocals in the movie “ Rockstar”. Steelheart also had the misfortune of singer Mike Matijevic be critically injured in a concert mishap. A plethora of 80's bands saw their record sales, ticket sales and popularity plummet by 1993, despite having gold or platinum selling records... Slaughter, Firehouse, Warrant, Kix, Britney Fox, XYZ, Bang Tango, Enuff Z'Nuff, Lynch Mob, Great White, Skid Row, Europe, Whitesnake, Poison, W.A.S.P, Keel, Winger, Tesla, Triumph, Quiet Riot, Cinderella, Vixen, Mr. Big, Danger Danger, Stryper, Dangerous Toys, Trixter, Saigon Kick, Bulletboys, Extreme, White Lion, Faster Pussycat... etc. They all got dropped by the music industry... ☹ And with the success of grunge and alternative rock by bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, R.E.M. etc... we got new bands that sounded more like them, including: Stone Temple Pilots, Soul Asylum, Radiohead, Tool, Seven Mary Three, Nine Inch Nails, Primus, Weezer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, The Offspring, Sponge, Local H, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Cranberries, Veruca Salt, Hole, L7, Marilyn Manson, Bush, Oasis, Silverchair, Collective Soul, Candlebox, Social Distortion, Rancid, Helmet, KoRn, Deftones, etc.

Yes!!! the 80's rule forever, that's my era, that's where my love for metal started and kept growing, so you can imagine how listening to this one exceptional song feels like (I hope), how about reacting to "She's Gone"? is a very romantic-kinda-sad song but definitively a must! there he exposes his vocal talent as well as on this song! he never holds back.
