Nice reaction. Tim Minchin is a comedian and also a talented musician. You should react to his song Prejudice

Tim Minchin is many things, he doesnt like to be pigeon holed. He has been a comedian, an actor, a playwright, a producer and director, a talented composer with 2 Broadway musicals under his belt, a voice actor, a masterful pianist and a singer with a current record deal. You cant just say Tim is a comedian or a singer, hes a bonafide genius with many many talents

Love Tim Minchin. Yes, he is a talented comedian, singer, actor, song writer.... He is the composer & lyricist for the Tony winning Broadway musical, Mathilda the Musical and played Judas in Andrew Lloyd Webber's acclaimed tour of Jesus Christ Superstar. He has acted on TV. His song writing can be irreverent, funny and beautiful. One of my favorite songs on my holiday music playlist is his "White Wine in the Sun" - it is about the commercialization of Christmas and about his love of his family, getting together at Christmas in Australia where they drink white wine in the sun. Tim Minchin is a genius, thank you for your reaction today.💜

One of the most talented musicians in the world right here. Tim Minchin has written the entire musical scores for Broadway musicals and his piano skills are some of the best I’ve ever seen. For example, he has pulled off a song where he actually sings in F sharp and plays piano in F (this ain’t easy to do at all!), he also has one where the piano simulates vocal intonation, he often incorporates ad-lib piano solos into his concerts too.

Thanks for reacting to Tim. He's a boy from my home town, and one that we're inordinately proud of. His multi-talents are amazing, as others have already pointed out, but it's my belief that there's more than a little self confession in this particular song.

If you're looking for more Tim Minchin to check out (and I hope you do), everyone and their brother will probably recommend Prejudice, so, I'll put some other options on the table: Not Perfect; White Wine in the Sun; Play It Safe; and if you want to see him almost literally murder a piano, the "Awesome Version" of Dark Side.

Tim started off in music comedy after not getting anywhere with his music career. Got his break at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2005 and after that regularly toured and appeared on TV (mainly in the UK and Australia, where he is from). Hasn't done any new musical comedy for over a decade (with the exception of the intro for 2020 BAFTA awards). Tim has branched into other areas since then. Wrote the music and lyrics for 2 musicals (Matilda and Ground Hog Day), acted in numerous films and TV shows and as writing scripts for some of these. Put out a rock album in 2020 called Apart Together as well songs that he written for movies and TV shows that he has appeared in. Has published a book which he is currently touring to promote. He also did an inspirational talk called 9 life lessons which has had over 90M views. I would recommend Prejudice, Dark Side, Thankyou God, White Wine in the Sun and Storm but that only touches the surface. Tim has many more great songs.

Tim Minchin started out as a cabaret performer. He is incredibly skilled on piano (this song is about a level 1 for Tim) and he is also mostly self taught. Musically his work is very broad. He has his comedy songs, but also plays Jazz and Blues, writes for Broadway and has an album of more normal songs. As a pianist myself I find it very difficult to firstly even comprehend how he can even reach that level of accomplishment musically, but on top of that his time is divided up between many different pursuits. How many accomplished pianists can say that they also write TV shows, act, direct movies etc. Tim directed the animated Dreamworks movie Larrikins, but it was canned when it was nearly finished because the studio got bought out. He lost 4 years of work and was pretty annoyed about that (listen to his song Leaving LA which reflects his bitterness about that). It's obvious from his work that he is a very intelligent person. He also has a personal interest in science and philosophy and is pretty outspoken on politics and against religion. He has recently released a book which is an amalgamation of ideas from various speeches he has given over the years and his reflections on that. He has a book tour coming up - I have a ticket for it :).

Fun reaction. If you do more Tim Minchin particularly "White Wine in the Sun" just remember that Christmas is in the summer in Australia. He has a fun animated version of that one. If you want something pretty recent that shows what he looks and sounds like now try "Play It Safe" which was done at the opera house in Sydney Australia. He's lived in London, Los Angeles and Australia. Amazing guy all around. Tim did a very funny bit about his wife's reaction to his comedy talking about her. Her name is Sarah and yes they have been together since they were 17.

Craig from South Australia here. Tim is a bit of a legend from Oz. No doubt everyone else in the comments has already told the story. I'm here by way of having a bit of a look to see what the world thinks of us in general. Tim's stuff is a reasonable way to track that, because he reflects a decent percentage of Australian's values, and appeals to a pretty wide range of us. Obviously not all of us by any means, but he'd probably get elected to some official office or other if he had a crack at it. It's been interesting to see your reaction, and I love the multi-generational format. Cracking effort, and you didnt come across as stupid or insulting. That might sound like an insult, but on the internet, that's pretty fuck!#& amazing these days. I'm subscribing :)
