Absolutely incredible. The mixture of sonorous, melodic lines in conjunction with “Pendereckian”extended techniques in the strings makes for an eclectic yet cohesive sound. Most importantly, it’s beautiful! I’m wondering- what is your inspiration for the instrumentation? The combination of instruments is so unusual and colorful!

The instrumentation for the piece came from Mozart's Third Horn Concerto. His orchestra in that piece consist of two clarinets, two bassoons, and strings. We added bass clarinet and contrabassoon doublings in the third movement of my Horn Concerto, to extend the range into the lower register and to create opportunities for more darker colours in the woodwind solos.
