People react to what Katie says negatively because they have built years of tools and tactics, keeping their denial around their ego. Protecting their ideas. Katie exposes that, challenges those ideas, thus, they react. I agree with Katie on mostly everything. I'm a very smart person, though. I've had years of education and hold many degrees. ;)

We have plenty of psychometric data on adopted twins reared apart that demonstrates that intelligence has pretty much zero correlation with family upbringing, but a very strong correlation with biological ancestry. It is a romantic fantasy that you can easily raise an adopted child from a troubled background in a great family and expect him to become a very smart and successful person. If the child's biological parents were alcoholics then he is far more likely to become an alcoholic, if his biological parents were promiscuous and unfaithful he will most likely be the same, if his biological parents flunked out of school then he has a high chance of flunking out of school. It will make virtually no difference if you fill the child's room with books and fill his schedule with violin lessons and museum trips. Obviously there are exceptions, but the scientific data overwhelming points towards nature rather than nurture that makes the person.

I am appalled! I could slightly understand what she was saying about names, and how sometimes we judge people on things like if they had a name that we associated with something bad or someone we don't like, but when she brought up not hiring people because of weight and how its harder to love a baby if they had red hair is shocking. There are laws protecting people from not being hired/being fired or being discriminated against based on appearance/weight. This is the type of thing Martin Luther King Jr. tried to work against, judging people just by what they look like, the color of their skin, hair, weight, height, etc.. We are in a day and age where these types of views should not be accepted and she should not be given so much publicity to share them! I truly hope that her children do not grow up with similar views and that older generations won't either.

Katie hopkins makes some good points however she just can't say them in the manner that she does, for example where she said fat people are lazy, she could have worded that overweight people tend to do less work thus gain weight but by saying it in a way as if she were looking down on them she makes the point sound much more controversial than it actually is.
