The fight was historic! It was also a huge robbery to Amanda Serrano. Amanda landed more power punches. She was the aggressor majority of the time. She rocked and made Katie Taylor stumble 3 to 4 different times during the fight. She did all this while dealing with that nasty cut and eating all of Taylors punches like it was nothing. Katie Taylor head butted Serrano multiple times, got a point deduction. She stumbled and back stepped multple times. She was always grabbing Serrano and holding on way too much, even the ref said she's better than that. Yet, even with all that, ALL 3 JUDGES gave the fight to Taylor. 95 to 94!? So Taylor would've been up by 2 without the penalty?! WTF? Anyone can see that Amanada Serrano WON with that performance. The fact it wasn't even a split decision is crazy. Just straight up bullsh*t like Taylor dominated. MY ASS! She lost and she and everyone else knows it, just watch the replay and judge it fairly. You'll see. Amanda even went up 3 weight classes and dominated her. I feel for her, that was her moment, she gave us a great fight, with heart and it was all stolen at the end by shady judges. SMH. Not even one judge gave it to Serrano.....Katie is not the real champ. Amanda was the true fighter, the REAL Warrior. She should've got that belt.

When the judges do the official tally, it isn't just about hit percentages. Combinations count way more than regular shots and jabs count the least. You can throw 100 jabs and land every one and still lose if the other fighter gets in a few good Combinations. You also lose points for your head rocking, basically and indicator of how hard the hit actually got you and finally you get a huge bonus for going high then low or low then high with each change up and successive hit getting progressively more points. Katie won, it actually shouldn't have been a close decision but the point deduction made it seem like one. The point deduction was kinda bogus too, even Roy Jones jr knew and said as much during the fight. None of it was intentional.

@kingmaestro1766 i don't favor either fighter. To be honest, i don't even follow boxing as much as I used to and am not familiar with either of them. To be clear, though, boxing is scored on way more than just 3 categories. Throwing jabs and landing jabs may be where boxing starts, but those percentages they put up barely impact the final score for each fighter. It's about defense, aggression, ring generalization, battle sense, rhythm, and then yes, hit percentage , power, and combinations. Like I said, 100 jabs that all land don't score you as well as 5 good combinations or 15 power shots. If they did, then every long armed fighter would eek out a win by just firing off rapid fire jabs for the entire fight. Its also about how often they clinch, it's not illegal, or dirty. It takes practice and shows an ability to read the opponents rhythm and know when to break it and reset. It's about defense and foot work, how do you control the ring? Do you back off? Do you side step? Do you get backed into the corner? Serrano just barreled down all night and fired off punches. It was flashy and impressive to watch but doesn't score as well, and she should have known that. She didn't control the ring, she didn't break Taylor's rhythm, she didn't land as many combos. Sympathy is on her side because she got more injured but head contact between southpaw and orthodox is incredibly common and well know and she didn't adjust for that, she led with her head a few times too she just didn't fair as well. She lost. She did well, but she fought like a brawler and not a boxer, and it cost her.

Roy Jones jr makes some pretty good calls, catches a low blow by serrano in round 3, doesn't think any of the headbutts were intentional and says it's anyone's game at the end. The other 2 are incredibly bias towards katy the entire time. Watch it with no audio and it's pretty clear katy won at least 6 maybe even 7 rounds and it isn't even close. As for headbutts. No, just not a thing that was done intentionally. Southpaw v orthodox almost ALWAYS results in head injuries and if the southpaw comes of worse and is butt hurt about losing they ALWAYS say the other person cheated. Its why a lot of orthodox boxers are hesitant to even fight a southpaw. That was like half the plot of rocky, and Stallone didn't just pull it out of his butt its a well known thing that every single boxer will talk about...except, ya know southpaws who get whiney about losing, they insist it's cheating.

Listen folks, even without the headbutts Katie was beating the snot out of Amanda....again. As far as the "headbutts" when a person tends to lean in a certain way as a boxer, and "they do it every fight" other fighters are aware of this, just as much as they are aware of their opponents best shots. There is another accomplishment Serrano has that nobody mentions. She's very good at making sure she has an option for an excuses. Remember her last fight with a strong fighter who came here from Australia to fight...me either because Serrano backed out due to a horrific hair dying incident, but she was fine to go out to the club and post on instagram. If Serrano and her team are so aware and sure that Katie headbutts in every fight...why didn't she try to avoid it? If anything it was 50/50 because Serrano's head was moving forward to! Serrano is a poor sport which is far worse than a headbutt. The only thing I felt like I saw Katie do that was a bit dirty was after Serrano got the cut, there was another time their heads came together and it appeared like Katie was using her braids to rub serrano's cut and make it worse. I noticed this because I know back in the day of bare laced gloves they used to rub the laces across cuts, today they do it with the tape.. The thing is though, there are many many little dirty tricks that occur in boxing, almost in every fight. Most of us just don't notice because we don't know any better. Mayweather could write a book of tricks. Mike Tyson can show you how to drill someone with your elbow while making it look like a clean punch. Evander Holyfield my god, talk about a fighter who uses his head, but again, thats the way he moves. When someone does an intentional headbutt you can tell, it requires a decision to do it. When they are swinging at each other while also blocking and dodging chances are sometimes they are going to be in the same place at the same time. Also keep in mind, this fight was put on by MVP, Serrano's promotion. So Serrano lost under judges that if swayed at all would have been swayed in her direction, same goes for the Ref.

That's not a win for women's boxing. Serrano was headbutted and held from the third round. Taylor landed fewer punches. Judges telling lies about how hard Taylor hit.
