To avoid bleeding on tape/paint projects I use the base color on each step to seal the tape and stop the bleed! Your ideas are great!

Giveaway- I think it's perfect, would not change a thing. Same colors. I might do it in a longer piece of wood so I could display it on my porch. Make a big Welcome sign. Acutally, I think I would paint the other side in more of an orange base and browns and display the other side for fall, and write welcome down it.
