Daniel coming thru with receipts will always be my favorite part of this episode. The mention of Akasha made me so happy. The reveal of Daniel being made by Armand was so satisfying. The best was Lestat and Louie. Sam and Jacob acted their asses off. I cannot wait until season 3. It's gonna be a banger! I've really enjoyed watching this with you.

There were a few humorous moments in this episode. When Lestat gets up holding his plank of wood/piano keyboard and Louis asks about him eating rats, and then Lestat asked "Do you want one?". I thought that was funny. That, along with Lestat saying "Siri pause" were really funny moments to balance the heaviness of the episode.

Some people are pointing out the change in Louis after he leaves Armand. The change in his clothes, he goes back to his New Orleans accent, the penthouse has more color in it. He went from a colorless, purposefully emotionless life, to old Louis.

I believe not everything Armand says is about Louis is really about Louis. He loved Lestat, was obsessed with him, and I dont believe he forgave him the rejection. So Armand found the way to hurt Lestat by taking his family from him

Just complicated and traumatized characters played by incredibly talented actors and actresses. This season was everything I needed and more. This finale (along with the entire season) has been universally acclaimed and loved by the fans. They stuck the landing perfectly. Mike Flanagan, who is one of my favorite horror creators, even said that this is the best show on television. He also said they ended the season perfectly. If you haven't watched his stuff, you should. He has done movies and series like Midnight Mass, Doctor Sleep, Haunting of Hill House, and Fall of the House of Usher.

i love that you peeped daniel's nails and thought that he got a manicure lol. the small comedic moments from louis' meowing at the cat and later lestat muting siri were great to break up the big emotional moments. the cast and crew deserve all the awards for this amazing show. all of my social media timelines are full of this show, and are making me want to cry over and over again because of louis and lestat's mourning of claudia together. thank you for your videos, and i can't wait to see your full season breakdown.

I knew Armand was lying, but I didn't care, lol. Like he said, why would he pick an unsure love over a coven he's known for 200 years. Armand is about stability, I guess after a while, he figured he could construct his own stability by altering reality. That Dubai house was a modern-day cave where Armand is the covert coven leader. I laughed so hard when they described what Sam was doing, I was like, did Sam become deadmau5? 😂 I'm super excited for Season 3! I'm ready for Daniel to shake some stuff up with Armand. 😂

I don't think he did. If he had, I think it would have been brought up, because it's not relevant after this.Although deferring to the source material, Armand and Louis weren't lovers, but they weren't enemies, either. They had conflict, but they do not hate each other. Eventually they are allies of a sort if not exactly BFF's. But I think it's been made clear that the source material is definitely not the rosetta stone for predicting what will take place in the series.

I haven't read the books, I'm just speculating but I don't think Armand is lying about them dating in the past. I think they were lovers but Armand loved Lestat more until Lestat dumped him and broke Armand's heart and he never got over it. I think he found in Loui a way to torture his ex lover, either by killing Loui in front of him (episode 7) but when his plan failed, then he figured he could keep Loui to himself (episode 8) and eventually I think Armand did fall in love with him. in reality all the characters are very complex and we cannot categorize them as "good or bad" but it makes sense that in such a gothic novel, love and hate are so intertwined in their actions.

That final embrace with them talking privately -- no one knows what was said but Jacob/Louis and Sam/Lestat. I am a sucker for the romance of that. I finally got around to watching this episode today. And I don't remember if I commented on your last video when you were talking about hoping claudia could come back somehow. Anne wrote this to deal with the grief of losing her daughter. Claudia is michelle in this book... The scene with lestat and louis talking to each other about their pain and him asking louis if he had tried to hurt himself, That's that's about as real as you can get when it comes to the pain of losing a child. My daughter was still born sixteen years ago, I even know I read this back in the mid nineties, And i've seen the movie plenty of times since then, That scene really really broke me.

They’re all incredibly f*cked up in their own way. Of course what Armand did was terrible, I’m not excusing that. But I can’t help but to feel for him. His desperate need of wanting to be loved/chosen. He knew Louis didn’t truly love him. From the beginning Louis was hesitant and unsure and he knew that Louis was with him out of spite at the end. And he accepted that, which I think is sad. I think Armand did love Louis (in his own twisted way because does he truly know what love is?) but he was given a difficult choice. Louis who has always been hesitant with their relationship or his 200 year old coven. But also let’s not forget he didn’t kill Louis when he had the chance right at the beginning. He also saved him from the sun later on (sure, part of it could’ve been for selfish reasons). Then he saved him again when he was in the crypt from starvation. Lestat might’ve saved him from death during the trial but it was Armand who got him out of the crypt. He’s incredibly flawed and broken. He’s had on many masks BUT MASKS ARE OFF NOW BABY and I personally can’t wait to see what this will mean for him in s3! Tbh I wouldn’t mind seeing an unhinged evil Armand! Assad did a phenomenal job with him this season!!!

I agree with you. Armand is my favourite character. He has so many layers to explore. I think he loved Louis or was in need of someone like Louis. But since their relationship was shadowed by Lestat, it was destined to fail. Armand would never choose Louis bc of Lestat's present and would never really trust him fully. Armand always pretends. It's his means to survive and we didn't really see him much without some sort of mask. I'm so excited for what could be next for Armand in S3. I'm up to unhinged crazy evil stuff with drama. Assad played Armand so brilliantly!

Jacob looked beyond badass and gorgeous and Santiago should have gotten away more after that foul ish he said about Claudia hope he was lying just to piss Louis off. I think they have switched up some things from the book in order to have Jacob in season 3 for some good bits. Maybe they heal their relationship and stop being so damn toxic to each other. You haven't seen anything from Lestat's point of view yet. Episode 7 was still being told from Armand and Louis' recollections. The only time you've seen the real Lestat without the bias and filter of another character is the scene in New Orleans at the end.

While I appreciate how the show is paced; I think a lot of viewers are discounting exactly how long Louis was in 'Belgium'. It wasn't hours. Louis was locked away long enough to feel the worst of vampire hunger. Louis was starving when he was rescued. "Time in a box" - Claustrophobic dark, sleep paralysis, rocks in the body kind of horror. Nothing but isolated 'feels' in a black void. And the only way to cope is Zen.

Going into season 3 please internet understand we could never understand the emotions of immortal beings. Throwing each other around is sadly part of it. I'd argue that Armand was genuinely torn by a dual loyalty to both his coven and to Louis, and at a crucial moment, true sub that he is, he gave in to the demands of the coven, which he did say felt "surer" than Louis' fickle affection. Remember, Armand has been burned and spurned many times in his long life by those who've alleged to love him so I can see why he was willing to let Louis die as just someone else who didn't TRULY and WHOLEHEARTEDLY want/choose him. But I think once Louis was spared, Armand got lonely, felt a little tingle in his booty, remembered that face down, arse up action in the coffin and decided he wanted Louis back. Louis, Armand, and LeStat are all desperate to be loved. It's the desperation that motivates their heinous, selfish actions. P.S. Love you and your reactions! 🤩

At first, when I saw this comment, I was going to say bs, but this is 100% true. Armand has abandonment issues just as much as Lestat does, however, Armand is wayyy too controlling, and I'm 100% sure that this is why Lestat left him. The man changed Louis memories. Lestat looks at him in the audience and says something I can't remember that insinuates he messed with Nicky's memories or did something else to screw up his head in order to get Lestat. But overall, I have a hard time believing that Armand loved him because if you love someone, you wouldn't have just let them die like that. Armand was never torn between Louis and his coven. This is the same guy who actually killed his own coven members and lied and said they took themselves out. Armand has lied from the beginning, he’s even lying about his relationship with Lestat. Lestat rejected him. He didn’t really love Louis, it was all about his obsession with Lestat and he didn’t want to be lonely. He manipulated both Lestat and Claudia and ultimately betrayed them. Claudia’s death was definitely different from what happened in the show and Armand pushed Lestat out of a window. It’s so frustrating to see all these Armand apologist yet Lestat was allowed to be demonized for every little thing.

@@Persephone_Personified It's always humorous/annoying af to me when folks go out of their way to believe in myopic, narrow, one-dimensional, stiff, stale, black/white, good/evil binaries, versus the very dynamic, multi-dimensional, and complex characters the writers go out of their way to create. BORING--but believe what you will. Thus far, a thorough line in this entire series has been the deep and enduring TRAUMA that motivates these vicious, immortal bloodsuckers in their unfettered quest to find love--Le Stat, Louis, Claudia, Armand, Madeline, heck even the little we got from Santiago's back story hinted at some degree of trauma and a desire to be wanted, to be enough. This desire pushes them to act out in ways both merciful and cruel, kind and callous, loving and hateful. This notion of folks/characters being wholly good or wholly evil is, IMO, foolish, naive, and self-righteous. Armand has been portrayed as someone bound by some degree of duty and servitude---he was sold, enslaved, prostituted, sent to lead aka languish over a miserable coven, uphold their "laws" and he did that, faithfully. It's well within reason that he BOTH saw Claudia's creation as an obvious abomination of the law AND an obstacle and hinderance to procuring Louis' love and affection for himself, alone. Again, he is also a "pick me" who has suffered from not being chosen. And sure, it's very conceivable that he also wanted Louis in order to get back at Le Stat. This may be hard for you to believe, but people (even immortals) are capable of having more than one motivation for their actions. LET THE CHARACTERS BE COMPLEX!

The part where Daniel starts asking the little stuff to clear everything up...haha....the first question threw me off I didn't understand why it was important. He said Lestat telepathically told him he was scaring the salesman but makers can't do that. I didn't understand the significance of that. Also I was curious about your thoughts as to why Louis dropped that DuPont from his name. In season 1 he went by Louis DuPont DuLac but now just Louis DuLac. Maybe these things aren't important but it just seems that everything they do in this show is for a reason and nothing is accidental. Again I love your channel!

Also I never trusted Armand since the museum, when someone says lets go somewhere just for fun and yet there was a random chance to reveal a hidden trauma that generates sympathy especially sympathy about abandonment and past relationship trauma, that is easily a manipulation.

I don’t think you are right with this being everyone has their own details about what happened. Lestat was telling the truth. It’s known that Louis is not a reliable narrator. I know you love Louis but there is a truth in this situation. Lestat wasn’t lying on stage, he was reading a script but kept defying the coven and ARMAND by going off script. Lestat was also also being forced and controlled. I hope you have more clarity after this episode and you see more of the truth. In the book Claudia’s death was worse and Armand was responsible for it. He also does something to Lestat that takes Lestat out of the picture for a while. Lestat was not the villain he was made to be and Armand is definitely not worthy of all the excuses that were made for him. Armand was going to let Louis die to hurt Lestat. That’s his motivation.

I find it interesting that people assume that Lestat's version is gospel, while Louis is the liar. Louis came clean when he remembered that his version of Claudia's making was inaccurate. It wasn't a lie or malicious. It was the natural way that we forget painful things or remember certain things and not others. When two people are talking about an incident that makes them both look bad, both people have a motive to exaggerate the truth or misremember it. In any case, like you, I am a ride-or-die with Louis, so that's that. I'm sick about Armand!! I don't know now what's real and what isn't. Did he ever love him at all or not? What was all the "I want you more than anything in the world" crap. And then a little bit later "Yeah, let me direct a play that mocks you and sentences you to death. Love you!" I am ashamed that I was full on team Loumand. I get mad every time I think about it. I hope, at some point, we see Lestat's version of the trial. The mention of Akasha reminded me of how Louis has gotten stronger in the short amount of time from Paris to Dubai. He's been feeding on Armand over the years. And Lestat confirms that feeding on ancient blood gives vampires power. Lestat was weaker than Armand then he bit and drank from his wrist before he gained more power and left him a week later. Louis not being able to fly, I believe is actually a trauma based inability like trauma induced mutism.

Armand chose his coven over Armand but when the opportunity to 'have his cake and eat it too" he gladly took advantage of the situation and sacrificed his coven when it was convenient for him. It seems Armand has kept himself alive through the millennia by using his cowardice to survive. Armand's entire relationship with Louis is just one big 'improv' session it seems.

Don't feel bad about being a Louis defender. They want Louis to be te villian so bad. It's true i love all the character even like Daniel a little more now, but i go hard for Louis because literally all he wanted was to find his own way of being a vampire and that was issues, yes he is verbally abusive andd selfish at times (like all of them), but it that doesn't erases the wrongs done against him hopefully now that he has taken responsibility for his part people will back off bashing him. #TeamLouis

My theory with armand is that 1. He Was going to save louis but lestat just got to it first 2. It was actually him who saved louis at the trial but the show is merely presenting it as lestat saving him for now, which adds up with daniel never liking lestat And works to divorce louis and armand on a textual level. Plus as you pointed out lestat never told louis who saved him despite the fact that it would’ve definitely made him switch ‘sides’ (but maybe guilt was a part of that hmm). In the end though does it matter? Both of them were responsible for claudia’s death with the intention of having louis for themselves This being the most charitable interpretations of the episode that is, to me lol Lestat is punished by louis and armand staying together; armand is punished by being in a loveless marriage where his partner is motivated entirely by spite for their ex and not love; and louis is punishing himself by staying with ze gremlin.

The play was meant to get rid of Claudia. Armand could blame it on Lestat. Louis would then hate Lestat forever. Armand said to Louis, I want u more than anything in this world. He tried to make that happen.
