A set designer's dream place. What an eclectic assortment of the detritus of previous generations. Amazing business. Building 4 was my favorite, but, there was a red marble topped table in bldg 1 or 2 that I really liked. I get overwhelmed by so many items that I can't decide what to get UNLESS I were to go there with a specific item in mind to be looking for.

Thank you do much for this tour. I wonder, do you see a piece and immediately say to yourself, "wouldn't this look great if I did.....with this?" What a creative generating resource.

That $55 dresser was a steal. It’s not even my style, but it would look beautiful in any home. I wished you had ended by saying “Surprise! We rented a U-Haul and here’s our giant collection of salvage finds we brought home!” LOL

Next time you come to Ontario you'll have to bring a trailer! I live very close to that salvage yard and LOVE wondering around! I'm keeping a close eye on their stools for our kitchen reno. It breaks my heart to see some of the dressers in the building with no temperature control. Also, sometimes they will drop prices on certain things. One guy said to me, "make me an offer". I like that! You did an amazing job at showing your viewers the kind of stuff they have there! Love it!

Speaking of regrets, the Victrola reminds me of summers in Gravenhurst. My cousin sold the cottage and I was too shy to ask for the pile of Brunswick records from the 1940s - I would have been the only family member who coveted 78s. Wow, 4 buildings! Might be "worth the drive to Acton" (different store/town but an ad stuck in my head for life).

Building #4...you know you're in trouble when they had a real floor...lol... One of the first thing you saw in there was the dresser (I think) with the Bakelite handles...the dresser was plane but those handles were pretty darn cool. In the building that was architectural salvage got more of my attention. That whole section of really dry and really old 2x4's OMG! I kept thinking how amazing they w/b planed down. Then kinda by them were some tree trunks. There was one there that I was thinking how amazing that w/b cut down in manageable lengths and then run on a lathe. There was really way too much...lol.... The one that got my heart was the Child's Horse (on springs) I had one *exactly* like it. I haven't seen one like that since, well, today. Amazing. That was an amazing place.

I love how your husband suggested the U-haul. I would have caved bc if my husband and think the same thing at the exact same time we go for it! Especially that piece for only $35. I have a rule at the store that if it's the absolute last one of said product it is coming home with me but this rule doesn't apply when we go to consignment stores or yard sales, sadly.

Green cabinet @ about 5:30. I actually screen shot it at 2 points. I need something similar for one of the last places in the "unfitted" kitchen in my old house. I am a die hard refinisher - ie, no paint! But, then I started fixing my kitchen for use and was drawn to beadboard and old cabinets (like 100 years old). Most were meant to be painted as they utilized paint grade wood. I've worked out a way to make them beautiful, quirky, and easy to keep clean. There were a couple of white painted items that might have worked for me too, though my kitchen is definitely not the current definition of "farmhouse" decor. It's more actual rural traditional vintage useful decor. ha. But, the green cabinet definitely made it into my design ideas (mental) folder. Oh, and I loved the big old flower painting. It would snazz up my "useful" kitchen situation.
