The Sethupathi effect! Oof. He’s a magician of an actor. Effortless in delivery. He's really in a class of his own and one of the best out there. Phone rings in the middle of a big interview being livestreamed with a live audience, doesnt get more down-to-earth than this 😅. From the 2019 FC roundtable he did, i never would have guessed he would do anything outside of Tamil cinema. He seemed deadset against the idea of collaboration outside of the south.

A Sriram Raghavan film for me is a must watch & when it stars the beautiful, intelligent, well spoken Katrina Kaif in a different role & the true Makkal Selvan in Vijay Setupathi ...what can one say To watch Vijay getting more cheers & love from the audience inspite of a beauty on the same stage says a lot of his popularity Pan-India . He's humble, intelligent, witty & can understand him trying to say how more exposure nowadays can take away the aura & magic of an actor . To hear Katrina laugh embarassedly when Vijay says he learns from everyone including Katrina shows in what high regard she holds him as an actor & to say only she got homework for preparation not top of the class Vijay Setupathi :) And myself first discovering this great talent in Vikram- Vedha...just blown away & a huge fan myself of Vijay Setupathi. Nice to hear how a director thinks or works & how actors approach or are told to approach a role. Great chat show episode.

Luk..This is how he answers in his early days to tamil audiences with his simplicity...He got attention & seeked.Slowly & Rapidly he became one of the top heroes in tamil industry..After he had grown to that position sometimes he will be straight forward to the interviewer with answers that sounds vry natural..In Bollywood now this is his early days...Now he may keep attention seeking with his simple answers coz dat sounds lil difrnt & unique..But i can say he is a wonderful actor with acting skills & can do any character roles..👍👍😘😘

Seenu ramasamy the director who introduce vijay sethupathi as hero said in an interview said that vijay sethupathi dosent need production food.. especially when the shooting is in the rural areas of tamil nadu the local people in that area will cook for him in their homes and will give it to him.. Great listening to Sriram Raghavan and VJS . Two genius minds . Points to Katrina who at the cusp of her 40 ‘s is exploring new dimensions to her image. At the risk of sounding slightly over the top Vijay Sethupathy is probably one of the best things that has happened to the cinema audience in this century . Until then in the south and other parts of the country , other than a minority of brilliant performers , many so called mainstream star actors who had minimal to zero talent were existing on a low bar with lazy cliched work , and were grossly overhyped and overpaid. Sadly - Many still are . But Vijay Sethupathy came along as a game changer, like a force of nature , disrupting status quo, taking risks , giving heart and soul to every role and showing his peers and audience what REAL ACTING is by elevating every character and story beyond the ordinary . In the past few years many faded stars and faltering actors have reached out for a lifeline and actively sought collaborations and co acted with him to make themselves freshly relevant , to resuscitate and save their sinking careers . The strategy appears to have been to feature themselves in projects in meaty roles opposite him making themselves look good, subtly or overtly winning over him in the storyline but yet the discerning audience can see that without the massive counterbalancing phenomenon of VJS ‘s natural brilliance contributing to the narrative the success of the film would be just average and audience response to the star pretty ordinary at best . With the juxtaposition of the two forces however the cash registers ring merrily at the box office . And so the formula has been to tap into Vijay Sethupathy’s cool aura by sharing space and basking in his reflected glory . Even if the director casts him as a villain, opposite a classic hero stereotype he is able to shine bright , derive strong empathy and admiration …that’s his unique brand of magic . Sure, in his career graph growth process there have been both hits and misses , and even some cringe moments in roles that were directorial missteps he didn’t foresee and smartly avoid as an actor , but his legions of fans accept it all knowing he is always striving for personal excellence and fearless experimentation on screen . Needless to say the delightful part is also his off screen persona filled with simplicity , charm and witty sincere self deprecation . This always wins hearts and endears him to all . Everyone can learn something about being real from this man. Truth is the movie industry timeline can be demarcated into BVS ( before Vijay sethupathi ) DVS ( during Vijay sethupathy ) and AVS ( after Vijay sethupathy ) . Such is his impressive body of work , inspiration, influence. Only after he broke the mould did many complacent old actors and aspiring ones wake up get schooled and understand what acting is all about . Salute . Look forward to much more from this great actor in the years ahead . Very Best wishes to all the cast and crew of this movie .

I am from Tamil Nadu. I know Vijay Sethupathi from his first film. While growing up to be the biggest hero in Tamil, he suddenly started acting in character roles. The reason for this is his love for cinema. Due to this, his hero market has collapsed in Tamil. Perhaps if he was only a hero, he would have been known only in Tamil Nadu. But now he is a big all india actor which makes me happy. Other heroes should learn from him. Usually people in the film industry live a fake life. It may give them happiness initially. But in the long run their life becomes hell. Because fake people are surrounded by fake people like them
