Dave Chappelle had to start over his entire career to get back to where he is now. If you don't believe me, go on KZbin and look up all them random clips of him in the late 2000s and early 2010s in them random comedy stores and small venues. But that's why he and Kat can't be cancelled. When you ask for a seat at the table, the people who give you permission to sit, can make you leave. When you create your own table, you can't take it from me. The seat or the table, you own it all. That's why when I hear how some actor or entertainer got their "lucky break", I know that's when they were allowed to sit at somebody's table. And if they go against the agenda of that table, they will be removed. Never let someone give you the world, cause they can take it back.

I feel like the whole black men in dresses is ultimately about Hollywood loving to make a caricature out of black women. People find the caricature of a black woman hilarious and always have, with the “finger snaps” and the “ mmhmmmm” as whatever. One of the easiest ways to make fun of someone groups characteristics is to dress someone else up and have them hyperbolize these things. It’s essentially the same thing as blackface to an extent lol. I don’t say that to over react to men in dresses, but I do think it’s an apt comparison.

exactlyyy. and many men's masculinity (in our community) IS very fragile. they probably know that so that's why they're doing it. if our men were completely comfortable in their masculinity and didn't feel like a piece of clothing or anything external could take their masculinity away from them, it probably wouldn't be so prevalent. but the comedic nature is the fact that a man who's black (and usually trying to stay within the guidelines of traditional masculinity) is now wearing a dress. For a man like Harry Styles (for example) to do that, it wouldn't be a big deal - because he's not someone who tries to be the epitome of what society says he should be (as a man) anyway. men in our community can't say the same.
