I am a retired doctor after practicing medicine for over 25 yrs and this doctor's medical practice was shameful, unethical and dishonorable. He violated one of the utmost sacred and important principles contained in our Hippocratic Oath, known as "non-maleficence": "First, DO NO harm", emphasizing that all of us physicians, have a duty to avoid causing harm to our patients, regardless of the situation, no exceptions period, no buts or ifs. This also includes telling patients what they don’t want to hear or do. This doctor should have developed a Wellness plan that included intensive physical & other pain treatment modalities, then tell MJ to cancel this concert, taking time off to take care of himself. Instead, kept giving him pain meds (likely opioids) that eventually did not work so decided to use Propofol, are you kidding me? This injectable medication is never to be used outside the operating room, ER or ICU, due to its high risk of respiratory suppression, thus requiring constant closer monitoring, even a second year medical student knows this, give me a break. I was taught that being a doctor, is a sacred profession, unlike any other profession, in which people entrust their lives to us, therefore we must put their health above anything else. In my humble opinion, he should have not been released in 2013, & allowed to continue practice in another country, but instead, stayed in jail for life or at least until old age so he could not practice medicine at all.

Supposedly the anesthetic drug that he used on Michael was legal and I believe England and it worked when he got home he had chronic insomnia, when he got home, he found a doctor that would give him the medicine that he needed to try to sleep. I guess supposedly it was illegal in the states. That medicine could only be administered in the hospital. But if this doctor didn’t give him the medicine he needed he would’ve just found another one that would. When you have chronic insomnia or chronic anything you stick with what works. I feel bad for the doctor. And I am sure the industry did have something to do with it. Just like princess pills looked like his medicine, but somebody put in a different pill that looked exactly like his medicine, but had the fentanyl in it that actually killed him.
