I finally found it!! I used to play this all the time on PS1 as a kid. Growing up, I eventually forgot the name of the game and tried asking people about it. Whenever I would describe it, people would just say: "That's Gran Turismo", and I always told them it wasn't. This is definitely a load off of my list of forgotten things. Thanks for the upload!

This is a Japanese exclusive game.... and PS1 games are region locked. So no clue how you played this as a kid.

Cars sound really nice, especially for that time (similar to High Stakes on PSX). Physics are non-existent though.

the tires for this car must be made of godly sandpaper to get this amount of grip, but game looks good and the sense of speed is quite cool! the tracks can be fun to drive, but doesn't seem challenging considering the overall handling of the car
