I don't think her performance is offensive to Japanese, in fact, probably a lot of Japanese will appreciate it, and say " beautiful きれい”, " awesome 凄い”. The performance was good, I don't understand where is offensive ? She didn't say anything bad about Japan or Japanese in the song or in the performance. Although I don't like Katy Perry, I think that this performance was well done and beautiful.

It's a combination of a Japanese kimono and a Chinese cheongsam. However, I do suspect she altered it so she can move around freely and to make it more modern.

Yoon K Her costuming and styling is purely in pursuit of aesthetic, at the expense of accuracy. This has the ability to offend Queen Karma people of that culture who have their lifestyle inaccurately portrayed for the sake of performance ,without any consideration of the context of what she is portraying.
