arguably one of her best instrumentals ever. effortlessly sleek, mysterious and driving at the same time. those synth stabs in the beginning are so attention grabbing and present. the verses sound like we're in line to get into a club, anxiously waiting to get in. it's fascinating that the beat continues to gradually build and build for two minutes across two verses (literally unheard of in pop music structures/arrangements, imo). when it all comes together in full force at 2:15 it sounds so euphoric before that detour into the half-time trap beat. but then the trap beat picks up into double time again, again building that energy for an absolute explosion of a final chorus. anyway whoever produced this instrumental is a genius (just researched and of course it's max martin and shellback. with oscar holter).
