She is no longer capable of productivity and creativity, but rather she has started releasing superficial songs without meaning, taste or depth, and this may indicate that she never had that image inside her in the first place. Amazing band amazing songs…could only get the albums back then imported 😢. They remained popular in much of the world for awhile but the US dropped them. I’m worried that Taylor Swift is gonna try to sabotage Olivia Rodrigo’s career like she helped do with Katy. We know Taylor was threatened by Olivia’s success with her first album. And made Olivia know her place by taking song writing credits even though Taylor has many songs herself that are inspired/very similar to older artists. And it’s so obvious that Taylor took Sabrina Carpenter under her wing as revenge and to send a message to Olivia. Sabrina was flopping for yearsssssss (and I’ve been following Sabrina since girl meets world in 2014). Then Taylor let’s Sabrina open on her tour and brings her to a much bigger audience. Don’t get me wrong Sabrina is very talented and charismatic on stage but Taylor didn’t use her power to help Sabrina out of the goodness of her heart. She knew Olivia and Sabrina had a feud in the past. She knew she could use her power to propel Sabrina into stardom. And it worked. Although Olivia has a strong fanbase and I’m sure she will have a good third album in a year or two, I do worry about Taylor further trying to sabotage Olivia. Tbh I like Sabrina (aside from her always being in the middle of couples such as Olivia-Joshua or Shawn-Camila) but I don’t know if her music is memorable/deep enough for her to be relevant in 10-15 years from now. Also Taylor has also been shady towards Billie too and tried blocking her music from #1s by releasing variants of her album. But at least Billie is pretty much unstoppable since she’s loved by critics, strong fanbase and her music is memorable. But yeah I do worry about Olivia’s career in the future because she really is deserving of her success. I am glad that Olivia realized you can’t fight back with Taylor. Katy Perry has always been a weird-sh artist to me. Ever since her song Last Friday Night. She tried to be funny and relatable but wasn’t. To me, it always seemed that she was pretending to be a person she is not. Her songs were very catchy but not authentic. It was (and is) hard to relate to her. For the radio it works but for the new kind of audience it isn’t enough. 

Taylor Swift is very relatable and very true to herself, people liked that and the new audience loves it. (Not a fan of either, but I totally understand why Taylor is huge and Katie is not)

I think this plus Zoe Unlimited's video on how Katy Perry never had a strong cohesive brand nails it. Katy doesn't know how to want to be anything but popular. Whereas Gaga, Swift, Beyonce, heck even Pink have things they were and ARE trying to say with their art. They have substance that solidifies a fan base and they care about what they make and not how many people care about what they make. So when they have valleys in their careers they're not as impacted.

It was actually universally praised but then the way she managed its promo hindered its success, but it was truly the biggest chance she had for a comeback. Smile as a whole, while feels a little outdated, still sounded very authentic and true to her, and it has some of her best songs. If it had been released earlier in her career it would've smashed.

Her witness lead single chained to the rhythm was stopped playing at the radios after a week and rest of the singles didn't even impact on it. Digital version weren't available all the time.
