The original almost sounds upbeat and happy which makes it a mixed message, this version makes it clear to me, the original is a break-up song put to an upbeat tune. This version is clear, and simple. In other words, this version makes me see this song in another angle the other version never let me see.

Absolutely. I think this version is so much better. Her voice isn't so robotic and its more simple which captures the emotion. Same example with Sia's song Chandelier. The radio plays the upbeat version of her song, but if you google the song Chandelier of her singing with just the piano, it will literally bring you to tears. It's so beautiful.

The way I saw it was the happy beat was to drown out the sadness on purpose. She didn't want to focus on the feels, she just wanted to say it to get it out of her system as fast as possible with the least amount of tears. Here, she gave up. She is letting herself actually cry this time, there it was to burry it away as soon as possible.
