This is the saddest song with the happiest beat Edit: okay everyone got a sadder song, but this still wins cause of the irony..she's singing about us willfully ignoring reality and dancing to the music. And her song makes us do the exact same thing.

I cannot believe it took you guys 3 YEARS to figure out the message of this song. Truly was ahead of her time. She was awake before us, and now she can’t even crack the top 10 and she’s actually scared now to promote her music and speak up on political issues because of how twisted her words got and how traumatized she was from the hate over a haircut and songs with REAL MEANING. KATY deserves better. My ride or die. edit: oh wow this blew up was not expecting that

artists of such a level as Katy Perry are part of the system, they are directly part of its influence on the masses
@aamir68923 жыл бұрын
yea..but didnt she directly contribute with this song. She made this song, people thought the beat was nice and all, and all the money the song made went to capitalistic idiots. Didnt achieve much. and katy's lyrics have never been her strong point. seems kinda hypocritical to say this message when most of the money is going back to the people it criticizes
@commercialchase84423 жыл бұрын
@@aamir6892 Not to mention, but this song has a lot of possible interpretations. Everyone who listened to the lyrics beyond the chorus knows it's a social critique, but people disagree on what it's critiquing. Is it criticizing people's inability to express their own opinions, or express them in a healthy way? Or does it criticize capitialism in the music industry? I think that Katy had good intentions, but she could've chose one specific theme and stuck to it, and I do agree that if her message was the first priority, she should've self-produced the song.
@OfTheiAm3 жыл бұрын
She didn't...The elite WANT this message out, and they did it for all artist, They prepare you for their own events, and plans, and they also prepare how you will react. Example, lets say they prepare people for an alien invasion with movie propaganda (pretty much) and music , It happens and the people have been prepared yet we believe the whistle blowers on t.v risked their lives, But what if it is a government manufactured invasion and you were SUPPOSED to accept it and know about it... Former respected nasa employees have outright said it's true, But they don't care , This is an extreme example but this is my point

Very very deep. Everyone in this world seems to be chained to the rhythm which symbolizes social media or trending thoughts. Most of us have fell into the life of "parrot", we speak what others are speaking, we do what others are doing, we play what others are playing, we wear what others are wearing, even those things are NOT comfortable or suitable for us. We follow everyone else's steps, we lose our own style, we lose our own comfortable way of living, we lose our own creative thinking. What are the things left? Just brains without minds, thoughts without ideas and bodies without souls. We are all manipulated, we are all modified, we are all chained to the rhythm.

KATY PERRY IS BEING SABOTAGED BY CAPITOL RECORDS, HERE'S WHY AND HOW. (A THREAD) 1) In 2017, Katy released a political song Chained To The Rhythm, before that she was very vocal in politics, CTTR did pretty well on charts. But then she released Bon Appetit with Migos. Migos is an openly transphobic trio and Katy is LGBT+ supporter. Which means Capitol forced her 2) Bon Appetit was set to release solo but it got a feature on it on the last minute, and Katy got so much hate from it. When she was accused of being transphobic, her team did NOTHING to fix her image. 3) In 2018, Capitol's CEO confirmed that they were "disappointed" by Witness' unsuccess. And stated that they have a plan for Katy that they're excited for. But nothing happened in 2018. You can read his full conversation here 4)Katy released Harley's In Hawaii in 2019, which was a fan-favourite, was the fastest Katy Perry song ever to enter iTunes USA Top 10. But the song wasnt sent to the radios, it got sent later when the hype died down. 5)What is more strange about this is that even though HIH was so fast to enter the top 10, the song wouldnt come up when you searched it on iTunes. The song fell so quick. It lasted only 10 days on the chart even though its sudden success 6)Katy released Daisies, her lead single from her album earlier this year along with the music video. Daisies went #1 on iTunes and managed to say in the chart for over a month. But however, the song wasnt sent to the radios. 7)as you can see from the song's chart success, the song got out of the itunes chart after four weeks of release. The song was sent to the radios right after it got out of the chart, but the hype was already dead. and after 2 weeks, the song was taken back from the radios 8)Smile performance video was posted on KZbin without Katy knowing, after it got posted by her team, they deleted it. And posted it again on the right time. But the video already had over 500k views before they deleted. Also reminder that Smile was leaked 2 months before release. 9)Why would Capitol sabotage Katy, why is it good for them? Katy has a 5 album contract with capitol which ends with Smile, and Capitol doesnt want her to be a rival to them if she goes to an another company. 10)Katy is the only executive producer of Smile, which means she financed the album with her own money, because Capitol didnt financially support her 11)an average album is most likely to get 100 to 300 million playlist support from Spotify, but Smile only got 35 million. Also the whole album got leaked before its release by her own label, they sent the vinyls and cds to fans almost 2 weeks before release.

Icennavian Family Nah. The song is shallow, the video isn't. And that's what I love about pop songs! They are, in nature, shallow. Thus the listener or singer is able to project whatever meaning or message they want onto the song (via visual concepts (like this video) or just plain old interpretation)). Also, nothing wrong with pop sticking to shallow concepts. With everything going on some people just want to enjoy a musical escape via a song about partying or love or what-have-you.

Feels like this when I'm rolling to this song, I have slowly made up a dance routine, so far I only have the chorus, but it's hard to remember the new moves I create every time when my eyes are rolling at the back of my head lol.

YALL BETTER SAY SORRY TO KATY!!! Americans cancelled her cause she was saying nothing but THE TRUTH and yall hated on her and pushed her into DEPRESSION. Now that yall woke up it's time to say sorry to this talented woman who was boycotted FOR NOTHING. Anyways AT LEAST STREAM HER NEW ALBUM TO SUPPORT HER
@user-jk1ts3iv8u4 жыл бұрын
i didn’t even know americans cancelled her. i was 13 when it came out and understood it so much and felt it. i guess her facing backlash from this just proves her point tbh, bc americans were so chained to the rhythm and in their bubble that they couldn’t see what she was saying.

This song actually explains how the world we are living in was damaged by social media and people keep shuttering their eyes without being able to see what they have become. Sad but true.

most people don't hear the messages in this song "We’re all chained to the rhythm" "You think we’re free?" shes probably hinting at the music industry producing and demanding more music
@writershard50653 жыл бұрын
Well, it's a lot of things. It's technically not super deep, but it's one of my favorite songs of hers simply 'cause it's just like points at how we stick to the status quo of society even if it hurts us little, simply because it feels safe. Change is necessary to improve. But change is also scary, so we stick to what we know. That's why the song is about people chained to the rhythm, even though they can leave at any point. No one wants to leave because they feel safe where they are, even though we all know that something ain't right about that place.
