I've always despised the fact that zero appreciation or even acknowledgement is ever given that the Russian people suffered vastly more than the entire 'Allies' did in seeing off the Nat C's. Respect from myself at least.

Beautiful but not the war. It’s in fact a story of a girl whose darling left for a war. She is calling him not knowing where he is, whether he is still alive. Elle voudrait une victoire parce qu’elle croit que ça lui ramène son amoureux….mais au delà de tout elle voudrait ne jamais avoir été obligée de s’en séparer. Elle reste fidèle malgré tout.❤

@@samuelbee3250 ´re right, many people don’t know it and consider/ considered it a love song rather than a war one. I was one of them finding the image of this young girl so touching. Maybe I was wrong , I’ll listen once again. Thanks for your comment.

@@hanavanek1379 from the research I did, most soldiers saw it as a way to remember what they fought for. This wasn’t really the original intent, but it’s what the song is remembered for today.
