This is the true story of Mai Bhago Kaur Ji. She was an 18th century Sikh warrior princess who rallied men together to join back in the fight against the tyrannical Mughal empire, and assist Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Sikh prophet.
This story is seen through the lens of a young Sikh girl, Saibhang Kaur, in modern times. Saibhang loves science but feels the social pressure that "girls don’t belong in science club." Not sure what to do about her dreams, Saibhang Kaur thinks about giving up. But when Saibhang’s grandmother tells her the story of Mai Bhago, Saibhang discovers her courage.

As a Sikh i was taught by my parents in my youth my younger sister was totally equal to me. The 1st faith to proclaim women had the same soul as men. The west is finally catching up. ...God is our mother as well as our father. Some of the greatest Sikh generals were women !!!! They knew they had to fight to protect their children as the mother will protect her cubs in nature also.... 'Thou O Lord, art my father and Thou my mother. Thou art the Giver of peace to my soul and very life.' (Guru Arjan, pg 1144)
