It doesn't matter if a Gharana gets dilueted or not ,it is important that the classical music in totality should not get dilueted .I am an optimistic. The future of Indian Classical music is in good hands (throats and hands ,you may say ! )

Who is the guy they singing in honor of? He's sitting across from Kaushiki. Also Kaushiki is phenomenal. At the Parveen Sultana level when she hits those high notes!

I think this is inevitable. Musicians are travelling and interacting with each other very frequently. Music will become eclectic. It is said that Ustad Ameer Khan himself was influenced by several gharanas. There is not much distinction now between Kirana and Patiala anymore. Ustad Abdul Karim Khan hardly sang sargam- except in his Jhinjhoti. I don't remember Roshan Ara Begum singing any sargam. This is fine, as long as the music is not spoilt.
