Spiritually its perhaps not death that this beautiful thumri is subtly hinting at...it cld be that how we waste our lives in bodily existence & living just thru our 10 senses and missing the goal of knowing the beloved self or our inner real us which leaves this bodily existence one day unrealized or unloved.

The spiritual interpretation of this doha as given by you was beautiful & inclusive of wider thoughts. Yes the beloved cld be God or our self or consciousness as well. Never had heard of Kamali ( daughter of sri kabir sahib ). It may or may not be written by her. May be it was by sant kabir sahib himself & kamali name was put by him out of his affection for daughter. But the lyric is so beautiful indeed. Feeling so blessed.
