This is the type of founding institution that shape a modern country. I don't think people realize how impactful this university will be for Saudi Arabia and the world, i honestly just wish to survive until 2050 to witness the 40 first years of this groundbreaking university. Damn i never expected this could come from Saudi Arabia history's full of surprise.

It won’t. They claim to have eligibility as their main criteria for admission, yet it’s solely based on nationality. If you’re a Saudi citizen, you’re chances of getting in are low. I know a bunch of people who graduated from Ivy league schools and other top U.S. schools got rejected while students from Africa, Mexico, and Vietnam got accepted. How the heck would A Mexican or Vietnamese graduate would be better qualified than a U.S. graduate?! That’s why it won’t shape the Kingdom, because they’re rejecting our brightest minds

Yes, they have a visiting student program, which is basically an internship. It is also a paid position. You can apply through this website vsrp.kaust.edu.sa or contact Professors directly, by looking up their email in the KAUST website, if you are interested in some specific research topic or group.

My advice would be to go to www.kaust.edu.sa and look for Faculty members working in the areas you are interested in. After this, you can contact them, by email (their emails are in their faculty page) and try to get a bit more information on whether or not they are accepting new students, if they have the topics you want... If you have no one in mind, you can also just apply for a program/division and then discover with whom you would like to work here for your MS.
