Not denying that, following both for a few years I can tell you, the speeds they would average mid-drift are mind blowing to say the least.

lol the announcer's scream art 1:55 was much better than the whole video
@DJprofessork7213 жыл бұрын
It's clear to see that Saito had a much better harness system. Kawabata's had some serious slack that probably aided to him being injured. Anyway, was a hell of a drift battle til then.

Damn, that was a violent crash. But I think the best thing about these drift videos is listening to the announcers screaming in Japanese, even though I don’t understand them.
@ursuss10013 жыл бұрын
@kevinonstenk Daigo Saito (red car) walked away uninjured. Masato Kawabata (blue car) had only minor neck injuries (some whiplash) and was taken briefly in hospital for a check, but nothing serious whatsoever.
@xmdrifter11 жыл бұрын
even though both didn't get to continue, i think kawabata deserved the win on that one since the drifting error was saito's, straightening out.

There are tons of skilled drifters in Japan who are on a similar level as Daigo. Daigo won D1 just once, and that was half a decade ago. Even in drift muscle, daigo is of course doing great, but there are others up there doing the same stuff as him. on the contrary look at what he's doing go American professional drift. It's rape. If the all the best of d1 came to FD, the top 16 would be at least two thirds Japanese. So when Americans call him "words best drifter" after winning FD that's funny.

The title "world champ" should be given to the winner of D1 not Formula Drift, which is basically a copy of D1. Daigo is easily a world champ, but winning Formula D has nothing to do with it. It's like calling African league ice hockey winner team the "world hockey champions"
