I liked the ES6 years ago and the ES100- I tried out the ES8 for the first time in NYC in September and just ordered one minutes ago! I really like the key action, speakers and piano sounds, as well as being to edit things such as the lid position etc..

+KawaiPianosOnKZbin Thanks! I've a question, is it possibile to use the kaway as mute master keyboard, muting the internal sounds and redirecting the audio from an external module to the internal speakers of the es 8, using the audio input? Thanks
At 9:40, when I hear the bass carefully, when the G7(#5) chord plays, the bass sound at the 5th of the G (the 5th of the G is D) is normal instead of D# (because G7(#5) means the 5th bass also plays D# instead of D). For the styles, it sounds natural and clear.

+KawaiPianosOnKZbin Thanks for your quick reply, appreciated! So what you mean is to connect the mic to a mixer, and than connect the mixer output to the Kawai audio inputs, so I would able to use the internal speakers? Thanks.
@DanieleBuccheri9 жыл бұрын
That's cool, so I won't need to buy external speakers! Just out of curiosity, does the ES7 allow to adjust the audio input volume and balance it over the piano audio?

Sounds beautiful! I have been looking for an electronic and have been looking at the Yamaha P255 but I find the ES8 to sound much better. I am curious - on other voices such as organ and drawbar organ, how does one control the volume while playing? On an actual organ, one has a swell pedal. How is this handled on the ES8?
@cggage7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the quick reply! That sounds like an option and makes sense. Of course, in piano mode, I assume volume/expression is accomplished by how soft/firm the keys are played, with a master-volume, of course on the general volume. But, with all organs (excluding "second touch") the key is either on or off. There had to be some means to control expression and the separate pedal makes sense. Thanks, again!

How does the ES 8 compare to the KDP 110 or KDP 70 for home use?
@williamgroener77787 жыл бұрын
I love the Richard T kind of piano on the intro to this. Why do very few demonstrators just play classical, ballads or simple pop stuff? How about some Gospel, Elton John / Leon Russel kind of rock, or straight ahead jazz or funk? That will help me personally evaluate the piano for my needs, and might help others as well Please !

The second piano sound you played was my fave. The upper registers on kawai digital pianos are the best ive ever heard. Still not sold on the mid range though. The bass is good tho. I recently returned an es110...this looks a fair bit different tbh

Thanks for asking and for your kind comment. Other than any obvious public domain moment (such as during some sound example snippets), these songs are all original pieces by yours truly. There is no sheet music at this time, but I've been asked just enough times to warrant that production one day soon. The first song is a title track to my instrument album being released this year called "Big Shoes to Fill". -(Sean O'Shea/Copyright SingSpirit positive words & music/BMI - Licensed to Kawai America Corp.)

+KawaiPianosOnKZbin I recently upgraded from ES7 to ES8 - and I love it. Regarding the speakers, I sensed right away that they were much improved over the ES7. To make sure that the difference I was hearing was the speakers, not just the new samples/processing, I did an A/B test with an external module. The module sounded much fuller thru the ES8 sound system than thru the ES7.
@reverendsean9 жыл бұрын
+Larry Calame: Thanks so much for this input. Technically, we have to quote specs, but I completely agree that this new sound system just has more body and authenticity!

+KawaiPianosOnKZbin - I currently use a Korg SP280 which has excellent speakers- not comparing the two whatsoever- I was very pleased when trying out the ES8 that it was the only other piano that I enjoyed output as much as my Korg.
