Very nice demonstration of all the modulated and rhythmic abilities of additive, applications less explored of this method.

Sounds wonderful! I’m lost on my couch listening to this.

It sounds very different because it is. ADDITIVE Synthesis is the only major form of synthesis that remains underutilized. Kawai K5000 was the last Additive Synthesis keyboard made in the 1990's. Every keyboard available today is either analog, FM, sample based or algorithmic modelling. Kawai needs to release the K7000.

Additive is still well alive: all Kurzweil V.A.S.T. workstations are additive power-houses, if you have the know-how. I am playing with an additive engine of my own in my K2500XS + KDFX right now. It's a small one, but is enough to explore all the control requirements, the synthesis requirements and so on. I can also add more harmonics when I want to.

I've never heard anything that sounds like this, which is impressive, since I've heard so many synths of all kinds. Kudos.

@@gula_rata Why are you spamming this? A Kurzweil V.A.S.T. workstation can do additive, FM, Samples + Synthesis and anything else.

At 14:23 distinctly I hear a choir. Is it just me or do I hear this? Amazing and I don't understand how.

Me too. The human voice is difficult to replicate in pure synthesis, but that was very convincing. It's probably due to the fact that so many harmonics can be directly controlled, which adds to the realism. I've tried to make a convincing choir on my Yamaha DX7, but it's very hard. If I had, say, four more operators, I could maybe eek out those upper harmonics that add the "breath" to the sound.

Awesome. Would you ever consider doing a little tutorial video on the k5000s, how you go about programming it etc? Really interested in this synth but cant really find any videos on the workflow.

definitely second this request! Would really love to see your workflow from scratch. Understanding how the parameters work is one thing, but you seem to have found some nice sweet spots!

I would love to see something like this. It's such a formidable synth, but I know it's learnable.

Beautiful patches! I could listen to the first patch for hours. Do you have a bandcamp?

@@snuppssynthchannel Nice! Will definitely listen. Thank you! I’ve been thinking about purchasing a vintage Kawaii or Esoniq. Both seem to have a similar vibe when it comes to deeply programmed pads. This vid is pushing me toward a Kawaii.

Thanks for the beautiful pads music . Just bought one K5000s and I wish I could dive into it as you are doing. I second " Hslm " for a tutorial on this great synth
