I bought this KDP-75 a few years ago as an entry level digital piano. Loved it. But now as I’m progressing I wish I had splurged a bit more for the KDP-120. I was budget conscious at the time and didn’t think about how I would be progressing
@MerriamPianos8 күн бұрын
We're happy to hear that you love the KDP75! I can certainly understand that. I think its inevitable to wish for a better piano as we progress in our playing. As our musical awareness develops, the level of nuance and performance we desire from an instrument increases of course. :)

Hi Stu & Crew This is right, everything is described properly, and the second angle adds to the dynamism (kudos for editing), 2024-ready. 7:52 So where can I find this link for audio? Should be as the first in line in the description and as a Card in the top right corner

Kdp75 or ap470?
@MerriamPianos5 ай бұрын
Hi! Brent here! It really comes down to a matter of personal preference. I would personally give a slight edge to the AP470 in terms of tone and speaker system, but an edge to the KDP75 in terms of touch. I would recommend trying both instruments out in person to determine which one you connect with more. :)

I'm a classical pianist , With high level, I need a digital piano who sound like a real piano, is that piano able to give the real sound of piano ? When I heard the video I didn't feel of the sound piano , I felt it's sooo digital sound , is that right ?
@MerriamPianosАй бұрын
Tonal preference is a highly subjective matter. At this price point, I think the KDP75 is the most authentic sounding piano. However, if you're looking for a greater degree of realism in both touch and tone, you may need to consider looking for instruments in a higher quality range. Models from the Kawai CA, Roland LX, and Casio GP lines may be worth exploration.

Is it just me or does it sound weird 😅 i have a gear4music SDP 2 and it sounds a little worse than that 🙈 kinda... Scratchy? Tinny?
@MerriamPianos11 күн бұрын
Tonal preference is a highly subjective matter of course. I personally find the KDP75 to sound quite warm and rich (especially for this price point). At the end of the day, the most important thing is finding an instrument that you connect with musically.

Roland please come out with a refreshed RD-2000 with 73 keys🙏🏼

I suppose time will tell if they expand the RD line! But, I would recommend checking out the FANTOM-0 line, which has some less-than-88 key offerings. :)

Will you be reviewing the Studiologic Numa X Piano GT Digital Piano by any chance?
@MerriamPianos8 ай бұрын
Hi there! Thanks for the suggestion! We are not Studiologic dealers, so it may be a bit trickier to tackle that review. But, we will add it to the list and do our best. Sometimes, we received interesting instruments on trade that make their way onto the KZbin channel. :)

I’m having the hardest time deciding on what to buy. I need a digital piano for home practice. Mostly interested in piano sounds. Had decided on the Roland FP60X, now hearing this I’m second guessing myself. Anyone have an opinion on one vs the other? My budget is around $1,000 but was going to splurge for the home stand and pedal board with the Roland.
@MerriamPianos8 ай бұрын
Hi! Brent here! The Roland FP60X is an awesome piano! The tone and touch are fantastic and the the speaker system really pushes things over the edge sonically. The sound is really rewarding and captivating! While the Kawai KDP75 is an excellent piano with a great touch and tone in its own regard, the FP60X is a more advanced piano on all fronts. However, it does come down to personal tastes and subjectivity of course. :)

This or the yamaha YDP145?😢
@MerriamPianos8 ай бұрын
It really comes down to a matter of personal preference and budget. The KDP120 is the more congruent Kawai model to the YDP145 as I mentioned in my response to your other comment. The KDP120 is my personal favourite digital piano in this price category. :)

@@MerriamPianos how about a video on the best digital pianos of the past 10 years focusing one one thing and one thing only: action realism. I personally have an acoustic piano, which I dont mind playing for an hour a day, if I am playing music. But I am not going to force everyone in the house or even my neighbors (detached house; it tested decibles, its very audible at street level and between houses ) to listen to be butcher czery every now and then for a few hours at 1am. I need a digital that is cheap, is going to be somewhat realistic feeling. Dont care how it looks, dont care about the modes or the speakers, I actually dont care if its the best and most realisitic vs. other digital pianos. All that matters is, if I spend 5 hours on it that I wont have to relearn it it all when I go to play a real one. Something that is just close enough and not 5000 dollars. . Just headphones in, practice, one sound....piano. I have had digital pianos in the past and they were so different it was almost not worth it to practice on. Key click does not bother me.

Kawai kdp75 or casio privia px770? Any suggestion?? Will help me a lot!!
@Zoco1018 ай бұрын
My thanks again to Merriam for its informative reviews. I suggest spending a little more than the price of this entry level home piano. If you're going to buy a home piano (with furniture being part of the price) you should get a slightly better action than offerered by Kawai and Yamaha at this pricepoint. I'd go for the Roland RP or F model, with its PHA-4 action, or better still, the slightly more expensive Yamaha YDP-165, which has the GH3 action I believe. I've barely forgiven Yamaha for deleting the YDP-164 model which was such good value for money, but time stands still for nobody, and prices are beginning to come down again anyway.
@MerriamPianos8 ай бұрын
You're very welcome! Thank you for tuning in as always! We appreciate it. :) The KDP75 holds up as a wonderful choice for its price category, but, of course, spending a bit more money can unlock some higher quality specifications and features as you've mentioned. Thanks for sharing the insights!

For me personaly I prefer the GHS and RHC over the PHA4, however that's just my opinion. Love my DGX670🎹🎶
@Zoco1018 ай бұрын
@@MERCEDES-BENZS600GUARD_V12 It's good to be reminded of the diversity of tastes in keyboard actions. The triple sensor is one obvious selling point of the PHA4 action, but what works best for the player is the main issue. You might agree with me that Yamaha's GH3 is a cut above all of these actions, which is why I've always recommended the YDP-164/165 over the YDP/144/145. The price difference is worth it IMO.
