Actually, If you jump back to the moment Mikayla opened the box and took the plushy out, there was a point where Sophie was petting the toy then proceeded to grab it, but Mikayla turned away so Sophie wouldn’t be able to grab a hold of it and take it out of her hands.

I dont understand why people here like to make a fuss about other people's family choices. first whine about the elder sister didnt get a toy for herself and not whine about the elder sister didnt get the toy she first choose. If the family is a harmony one there is no such thing as which toy belongs to who. As at the end of the day they still will have to share toys during playtime. And its a very lame common sense to get a different toy when there is already the same one at home, so the both can share and have different toys to play with i have no idea which parents with getting the same toy for all their children. As imagine if a family has 9 children and all ones the same pikachu plush and the parent decided to buy all the same for them all. Their playtime will surely be a boring one. Plus there is hundreds of different types of pokemons, why get the same when one should be catching them all?

You are assuming that Mikayla actually plays with her toys. She looks a bit on the "I don't play with these things I collect them" side where is Sophie actually plays with them. Just throwing that out there. As for a family with 9 kids the odds of them all wanting the same toy is not that great lol. Plus when people put their family out there people get attached and as you can see they get upset when one is seems to be getting treated better than the other...Just saying
