Finally, I finished the Kawandi QAL! I said that I am not good at following QAL but this time I did it and I am pretty proud of myself. Even though the quilt is not big, this is the first bigger quilt that I pieced and quilted by hand. The finished size is about 19" x 42".

Actually, the backing is plain fabric and I use chevron fabric for the border.

Thank you! You may consider skipping the batting and use 2 layers of backing instead. That way it’s easier to do the stitching. You can check my other video where I made kawandi pillow kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIiYiKSkiZmEqLsfeature=shared

the quilting is done by stitching round and round starting from the outer border towards the center.

Es la misma tecnica que la del boro,solo se diferencia en el tamaño de los trozos de tela ,en esta técnica los trozos son mas grandes
@ChezVies
@ChezVies Жыл бұрын
Yes, you are right. The difference with boro is in kawandi we don’t prefold or pre arrange the pieces. It’s quilt as you go method. Thanks for watching!

could you please show how to make the corner pieces? for got what they are called.
@ChezVies

We just call it flower 😀 It’s basically just a small piece of square fabrics folded diagonally and then fold it again to make a small triangle.
