Kawasaki EX500 not turning over

Last night took one more swing at it. Found out I was lining up T with the cams of cyl 2 facing up. Fixed this by changing T to C. After I put it back together it started. Hope this helps.

On mine its the opposite. I have to line it to T to turn over, when I use the C mark I think it hits a valve or something

это проблема автоматического натяжителя который давит на переднюю пластиковыю лыжу которая натягивает цепь грм, автоматический натяжитель неисправен, и он ненадёжен, меняйте автоматический натяжитель на обычный болт и всё будет хорошо работать, просто при очередной регулировке клапанов будете подтягивать болт.

I there I have a 1992 Kawasaki Vulcan 500. I just recently purchased it from my neighbor and he said all I have to do is fix the timing chain on it. Can you please help me out here. Haven't tooken it apart yet.

The auto tensioner on the timing chain is a common failure point. I replaced mine with a manual adjuster after my '90 EN500A1 jumped time. It's also common for valves to get bent from cylinder contact when that happens.

I am having the same problem with my Ex500. Since I have taken it down to the cylinders re-gasket the heads. Extended the CCT, taken of the stator housing. I'm confused because the cyls turned when i took the head off and pressed the starter button. But now that i have set it on time it will not rotate 360 degrees. Did you find a solution, do you know what the problem is? I'm thinking the cam chain has so much slack its creating the problem. Thank you for uploading the vid.

Had a bent valve. A screw had fallen inside from previous owner. Removed the head and there the screw sat..
