maybe its just me but i hear some rattle knocking sound...at idle..

it can be the chain or belt distribution between cylinders,usually when it wear ,it rattles inside the carter

cam chain slack normal in the 600 auto tensioner does it at idle my 85 did it went 60kmiles in 5 yr never had any issues with bike at all not one part failure. Bike spent a lot of time at redline, if you bump idle up a few hundred rpm so it idles real smooth noise goes away. it was just the slack slapping due to rough low idle due to cams having a bit of a lope, was designed to make power all about 6 grand
