Good review. We have a 20222 Mule Pro-Fxt Ranch and it is the best machine we have ever had hands down, and we have had 8 ATV's and now 5 SXS's over a 22 year period. The Mule is the best built and best balanced for what it is intended for. Purchased ours March 30 th. this year and have 720 miles on it.

I honestly love my mule. Its an older one but it hauls the family and is bullet proof when it comes to work. I haul rocks and drag trees. Its a tuff machine. My cousin has a Polaris and honestly doesn't compare on the work side of things. Not even close. Love our mule
@bigstonyhomestead29174 жыл бұрын
I've had access and used an older mule and even though it was 2wd it was a good machine they put chains on the rear and it went surprisingly well. Polaris was in the running for us but didn't quite meet criteria. To me the Polaris is a better option for hunting or trail riding but not as good for farm work as the Mule.

Nice review! Do you do your own maintenance? I just bought one of these and in the manual it says that the dealer should replace the front gear case oil for the ranch model. Any idea what the difference is with the ranch that would have them recommend that? Thanks!

@@bigstonyhomestead2917 I’m looking to buy a trailer for my mule. I was looking at a 6 by 12 . Do you think that’s long enough considering most of the weight is in the back. What size do you recommend?
@jimmace61484 жыл бұрын
You can flip the A-arms side to side witch moves the front and rear tires outward giving room for larger tires and an edition of a small lift
@bigstonyhomestead29174 жыл бұрын
Understandable and thank you for input! This was just factory vs factory comparison for now. Id have intentions of a later review after I put it through more strenuous use and possibly add the larger tires and lift to see what difference it makes in everyday use.

Nice job on your personal review -- no hype, just honest pros and cons. Really appreciate that! We too have a 2020 Ranch in silver just like yours. Love the seat configuration flexibility and overall features and comfort. Added the Kawasaki glass windshield for all-year riding on our farm here in the Pacific NW. Question: Have you noticed a noise coming from the drive belt area? Ours has a loud metallic clatter on flat dirt or on our flat asphalt driveway. The noise is very apparent at 4-7 MPH in "L" and at 9-15 MPH in "H", as well as in reverse. Noise goes away when adding power or slowing. At steady speeds around our property, it is very loud and irritating! Sent videos to Kawasaki Customer Care and they call it a "ticking" noise and that it is inherent with this model. Have had three dealers try to identify the clatter and they all say it's coming from behind the plastic side cover of the drive belt area. Thanks for any thoughts you might have!

Thank you for your comment and question! We looked hard at other reviews when trying to decide what we wanted to purchase. many of the reviews were very one sided to the model they purchased and seldom talked about any cons. We knew for certain tasks there were better options but needed a machine to check the boxes on all tasks we needed and that was this machine at the time. I'm sure just as in vehicle world the competitors will come out with similar models in the upcoming years. I have also noticed the same noise and looked around under the machine thinking a stick had wedged in and was causing the vibration. It hasn't caused any issues other than annoyance when in that speed range. Almost sounds like a heat shield or something vibrating.
@mikem.31794 жыл бұрын
@@bigstonyhomestead2917 Very wise product selection on your part, matching family size and needs with the equipment. Does everything extraordinarily well for farm / ranch use. Regarding the noise -- part of my troubleshooting here at home was to temporarily remove the sheet metal heat shield that's attached to the underside of the tilting bed. Made no difference -- that wasn't it. We notice that the noise is less with the windshield off. Acts as kind of a reflector I guess. Good luck if you ever get into troubleshooting the cause of the rattle or clatter but it sounds like it's just part of an otherwise outstanding UTV. Please post if you ever come up with a fix. Thanks for your reply.
@bigstonyhomestead29174 жыл бұрын
@@mikem.3179 I took it out yesterday after talking to you to test it. The vibration never was that loud from the underside. The main vibration I heard at certain speeds seemed to come from around the seatbelt/roof connection. While its not really that loud I'd still like to not hear it. While ours hasn't been put under a lot of load yet mostly hauling trash cans to public road and occasional load of firewood if my pickup cant get there. Firewood is one test I wish I had included on the video because a full load in the bed takes some strength to get it to dump.

Does it do pretty good on trails ? I’m really considering this exact unit , it was between this one and all the Kubota and this one sets so much better , does it get high centered a lot ? Thanks man
@bigstonyhomestead29173 жыл бұрын
So far its never been high centered or stuck. If you are going for straight trail riding there are better suited machines. For duel purpose this has been a good choice for us. We use it 90% for farm use and haven't had it on any extreme trails but it has performed well in everything we've put it through to date.

We haven't loaded it down and tried for top speed. It has easily ran 35+ with 2 adults and 3 kids. When you have 4 adults and 400+ pounds of gear in the bed I'd guess it would be less than 30 mph.
