thank you Ryan , I have stayed out of dealership due to my frustration , the loss of use is maddening , wonder if anyone has started an action against the dealership for their money back , let them deal with Kawasaki bureaucratic doublespeak , what leads us to believe this will be resolved soon anyways

Unfortunately I'm thinking the dealer has their hand's tied. This is a Kawi problem. I have not received any messages yet from anyone saying they have filed suit. I would imagine at some point someone will have had enough and take that next step. I am hoping this a simple ECU flash and we are back in business.

He said, she said, its all just noise at this point. My Dealers Service Manager told me 2 weeks ago just the opposite of what your posting! That these combustion explosions are happening on Cold Start’s (not hot starts). Also that they had one in their dealer shop that blew the intake structure off (and into pieces ) on a n initial cold start. Also a Kawasaki Insider posted on a Forum several weeks ago this it was a ‘Cold Start’ issue.

As this evolves, so will more information until ultimately there is a solution. I have heard cold starts recently and I have heard hot starts. I am only giving info that I am getting from others and from what I can gather. I am not a specialist in the machines. Please don't shoot the messenger. This is a place where we can try and help each other out, etc. There are a lot of us, and we are feeling the same frustrations. In the end, it will all work out, just trying to navigate this thing.

The dealers don't know much more than the consumers. I had 2 svc managers tell me it was from hot starts, but heard the opposite from others. We won't know until they issue a fix.

Hi I have the same issue here in Australia and I was told last week by kawasaki that they will give us a date by the end of the second week of June.

There is what's called the Magnusson-moss warranty act. If the machine is that dangerous they have to buy it back from you. That act protects the buyer. If they won't buy it back from you you can successfully sue them.

My mule was cold when it blew up.

That’s unusual, but fuel loading can happen when cold. Did kawi or your insurance company cover your mule? Is it a 2024?

After this happened what did you do? Take it to dealer? What did they say? Can you provide us with any info?

yep, thats what my dealers service manager, told me, and a kawi insider online from a mule forum. Cold starts!

I visited my dealer for another dose of displeasure. Was told Kawasaki will be contacting me via phone within a few days. I won't loose sleep waiting on this call given the handling of the debacle to date. One positive, my State Attorney General office has become involved in my case and contacting the manufacture. In my state federal and state "Lemon Laws" may hopefully be of help. If a vehicle cannot be repaired under warranty in 30 days or less the purchaser can be entitled to a full refund. Visit your specific State Attorney General office and or Dept of Consumer Affairs for details. Has anyone considered what resale value for these machines have dropped too? It's questionable if we can even sell or get more than salvage value then we dance with liability issues. Long term our units value could be fractional at best. I continue to ask for my full refund and let my good times roll with hopefully any other brand except K following this debacle!

Nope. Nothing. When I called the dealer they had no clue there was even an issue.

Kawasaki will probably make the dealer fix all this while under warranty.

Just to let yoy all konw mine did back fire through the intake and blew the throttle bodt off whenthat happened the RPM's went out sight shut it off started it again the RPM's went out of sight agen slid the throttle body back on used a wire tie to hold it on this happened before the recall took it to the dealer to get it fixed before i picked it up i got the recall in the mail Dealer knew nothing about it until showed them. they said they repaired it but don't drive it until there is a fix THIS IS THE WORST SERVICEDEPARTMENT I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH
