As a person starting to get into motorcycling, this video is very helpful in seeing all the beginner riding options out there.

So many options. The difficulty of picking just one. 🤔

I love it. That looks like a really cool bike. ❤

It’s a really nice bike. One of the best 125’s out there.

Good review mate, Nice looking bike with good performance, shame about the sound
@GillyBikesАй бұрын
The sound definitely won’t suit most, but the kids will love it 😳

The kids will no doubt be into that bike, not for me though my weight fluctuates between 17 & 18 stone. I would look like a clown on a 125 sports bike . Also it may sound good to some to have a a zorst that pops ,crackles or spits , but it’s not good , bike needs to be put back to standard factory spec & exhaust , or fitted with a better matching aftermarket system & tuned / mapped to suit. 3 grand price tag isn’t bad if the bike had the exhaust system sorted properly as it’s in almost mint condition . But as it has that tacky loud popping can fitted , I reckon it’s only worth a punt at around £2 , 500 ,as it is at present . 👍

It’s all down to personal preference. I really enjoyed the ride. Loads of fun and I don’t think the camera mic did the exhaust note justice. It was fairly loud but it seemed to suit the bike.
@maskedavenger2578Ай бұрын
@ It not just about an exhaust being loud , it was popping which is not good . There is no way I would have an exhaust on any of my bikes popping ,spitting., or crackling . I would have to sort it out correctly . I don’t think Yamaha would have a bike leave their factory with a popping exhaust .
@GillyBikesАй бұрын
That’s very true. It does tend to be all of the louder / aftermarket stuff that pops.

Why on earth does a lovely looking bike like this (and the majority in this class today, save for Yamaha's MT-03) have to be singles? Back when I was a spotty teenager at the end of the 70s bikes like Yamaha's RD125, Suzuki's GT125 and Honda's CB125T were twins and, also, were more powerful, with the Yamaha and Honda in the 16/17hp mark. They also sounded much better as twins too, be it 2 stroke or 4. Sorry, but a single with a loud exhaust sounds hideous. It spoils an otherwise really nice looking bike.

I really don’t think the camera mic did the sound justice but I totally agree about the old bikes. They were so much better and faster than the modern bikes. Especially the 2strokes.

@GillyBikes Hi mate, that was in no way a slight on the sound quality of your video. You provided a great review and good production. Maybe I'm just a boring old git now. 😁 Keep up the great work. 👍

I have managed to install a helmet mic so I can prevent all the wind noise at high speed. I do think the noise outside the helmet has been changed. It’s definitely muted a bit.

Changed up too early 4-5th I think. Clearly I'm not in the bike so can't sense of its out of puff, but hanging on to the revs a bit might help. Nice bike though.

I will have to watch it back. Normally I feel them being completely out of momentum and that when I change up. But I’m also conscious that this bikes are for sale and I don’t want to be to hard on them 😂

@@GillyBikes Good point, its not like its a test fleet bike. And in the scheme of things we get the feel of the performance.
@jamesrennie1227Ай бұрын
That back box will be slowing it down. Guff.
@GillyBikesАй бұрын
I’m not sure about that. It was pretty much the same as the other Japanese bikes. If it did it wouldn’t be by much.

All noise and no action, buy and restore a rg125 gamma/ tzr125/rg 125 fun at 16 instead of buying a ped , keep it standard use good oil and you have a 90 plus mph bike at 17
@GillyBikesАй бұрын
Now that is the dream. I do prefer the older bikes. The euro regs really have stopped all the fun and amazing smells we used to get from our bikes.
@jamesrennie1227Ай бұрын
I had a TZR 125 25 years ago or so. Was pretty quick. 110 mph. Had the electronic valve system and smooth as anything. That broke though and needed a re-bore within 6 months. Also nearly died on it. Hectic.
@joshisclasss25 күн бұрын
Not legally allowed at 17 because yeah it’s a 125 but there’s a 15hp limit on a cbt , and all those 2 strokes have about 30+, so if you have a crash you’re finished

I have a newer one than what's in the video,5'.9'' and regularly i ride from Durham area over to the lakes and back and i've never had any issue apart from longer rides yer arse does tend to go to sleep but then again it isn't designed to be a tourer so it's to be expected. If anyone is looking for their first bike seriously take a look at the ninja especially if you like filtering..
