Great video series. I just bought a 2004 Vulcan Classic 1500. The clutch is slipping when it gets hot. I know that's the clutch fluid and slave cylinder, but if I need to do the full clutch, I may try (with a friend) to do it myself as that doesn't look very hard at all. Shop said if I needed new clutch it would be around $700 to $800. I'm hoping to get it done much cheaper myself.

I watched your video several times before trying it and everything happen and was as you said. I was very comfortable going into this project. My only problem is when I went to test it out my clutch wont disengage with the clutch lever. What did I do wrong?
@gregquinn68272 жыл бұрын
I did not see you check the clutch release operation before replacing the chrome cover. Did you pump the lever and watch the plates move? How much clearance will it have fanned open? Mine shows 1.4 mm using feeler gauges.

Old Mac. I was wondering if you can answer a question. When I release the clutch to the bike, the motorcycle wants to jump forward and for some reason it also stalls out sometimes. The lever is too soft also. I have a 2001 Kawasaki 1500e classic. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you. Randy.

Hi Old mechanic , I have a 2002 Kawasaki Vulcan nomad 1500 as well , decided to replace clutch plates , everything went smooth , according to your video , now I can’t get the clutch big nut off , try everything from air impact gun , rust penetrating lubricant , breaking bar wish about the way stuck my clutch rod and finally the candle 🕯 melting on it , nothing works so far any ideas o f how to get this done , I will appreciate it much , thanks Orlando .

Hi there , old mechanic, I figured out my torque wrench had fail , after fail attempts, finally my brother in-law came Over with his 24 volts torque wrench and did the trick , I can’t believe after many approaches, finally the nut is loose and I’m in the process replace old plates with new ones , my piece of advice , is don’t matter how experience you have sometimes the tricks of the all school works , this case , the torque , I had exhausted old school acknowledge and it all came down to hood torque wrench , Cobalt 24 volts and a 27 mm socket , my advice, on this take , not always things go the way you picture , my philosophy, thanks for your videos who’s inspired me on the take of the Kawasaki Vulcan clutches replacement.👍
@TheOldMechanic2 жыл бұрын
Hi Orlando, good to hear that you finaly got the nut loose. But I think that you used an impact gun and not a torque wrench to get that nut loose ?
@orlandosablonjr38192 жыл бұрын
@@TheOldMechanic , yes from the beginning I had used the impact gun but , impact gun was not working properly so a friend brought Cobalt impact gun and it took few seconds and it came loose , I had try it min first gears and I was still spinning , let’s hope nothing mess up , waiting for the gasket for the exhaust and cover to arrive , I decided also to order the Kawasaki cover gasket as you said it it I had the first one from Amazon and changes are is going to leak so my bets are on the Kawasaki gasket , so can’t go any further until them , thanks again for you very clear and detailed video.👍

I meant the Kobalt impact gun ,sorry , I had used the breaking bar after failing few times so the hub started to spin-off hopefully nothing got damage as I said .

Vraagje .
@TheOldMechanic2 жыл бұрын
Succes 👍🤛🏍
