I have the 2011 1700 voyager with the Vance and Hines, I also added the cobra fuel manager, anyway I really think you have shown the Vance and Hines have a deeper sound than the Tri-oval, great video.

@timothytmusgrove7 жыл бұрын
Agree with the consensus opinion: Vance and Hines sound better but the Cobra Tri Oval exhaust look better. My choice would be the Vance and Hines because the reason you purchase aftermarket exhaust is to enjoy a deeper and richer sounding bike while riding.

Great video! Your sense of humor kept me watching :) I agree with the sound VS looks comments here. I also wonder if that higher frequency ticking will go away after breakin? Maybe you could do another video? A link to Two Guys Cycle would be a real plus! Cheers

Love the bikes. I have a 05 Vulcan 1500fi with the Cobra 2000 fuel tuner and a KN air filter with a set of Cobra slash cuts. I put the bike on the dyno and I got a return of 89 hp. I can honestly say it really WOKE the bike up..... You wont be disappointed with the extra mods. Ride safe from the Great White North. (hurry up spring)

+NorthernVulcan Thanks for your comment! I have toyed with the idea of a new air filter and power commander but wasn't sure it would be worth the $$. Sounds like your saying it would. I would love extra performance out of it. Great white north?? We just got a foot of snow here in the mountains of WNC! I'm with you brother..c'mon spring!

Great looking bikes! There is no point in comparing the two exhausts... a wide pipe always sounds deeper. They both sound sexy. A low note pipe is not desirable for long distance runs, but these being so long and way behind the rider don't stress the ear that much. I do not know if these bikes have an idle adjustment or not. Most foreign cruisers require above 1,000 RPM idle, warm engine. It's just the way they are built and it has to do with oil pump and oil pressure for the top end. The RPM can be 'adjusted' using a voltmeter: the alternator should produce about 14V just a little over 1,000RPMs. You need 13.8V on the battery to keep it full with the engine running. These two bikes don't run super low idle like some people do trying to imitate a Harley idle, I don't think there is any damage being done... I just mentioned if anyone finds this helpful. Be safe, thanks for the upload. Have fun!

On the iPad .. Vance n Hines has a deeper tone ... The cobra is a bit raspy, but that could be because of the frequency of the camera mic . If your happy ... That's all that matters.

Nice job gentlemen. I'll be Installing a set of cobras on my 1700 classic when they come in the mail.
@rcafmaintainer37239 жыл бұрын
For the popping, the best solution is to install a fuel programmer. Now I've got the Dynojet Power Commander 5, the version I've got allows for ignition timing advance. With the right tuning aka map, I've got no popping except for one nice sounding one on down shift from fourth to third. To be honest get a big air kit and this bike wakes up!! Some purchase and install a throttle body gasket to eliminate any possibility of an air leak on the intake. Oh yes the pipes sound better broken in :) Deeper for sure.

I just ordered the Triovals for my 2014 nomad 1700. Did you ever get a power commander and or the K&N air filter? I ha e those items coming as well and was curious if you had feedback on them. Thanks again for your post. I will use your video to help with my install.
@stevensaldutti55859 жыл бұрын
Thanks Darren, for your question! I didn't get either of those, but I'm beginning to wonder if I should. When I Rev the engine, occasionally there is about a one second delay. Almost as if the engine isn't going to respond or actually stall. So, I think it's an air filter issue. I may need to bite the bullet and get the new air filter kit. I'm willing to bet you will not have that issue. As far as the power command, a lot of the literature I read suggested one doesn't need to have that. So, if you would be so kind as to let me know how your bike is doing with both of those, I'd appreciate it. Because I may need to bite that bullet too. I hope the video helps your install. Just please remember, stay away from the Sam Adams!

I had the tri oval installed on my 2013 voyager and the cobra auto tuner power commander but i'm getting popping like sound from it, do you know of any solutions...please
@stevensaldutti55859 жыл бұрын
I've read solutions by following the vulcan forums, but I don't recall them because I really like the popping sounds. Apparently, it happens from oxygen and the fuel combining in the prefect mix for combustion, hence the popping sound (if I recall correctly ).I would surmise having a different air filter and a power commander would fix this. But this is just intuition, not a guaranteed solution. The forums do have the solution. I'm sorry I couldn't give you a definitive answer. Thanks for your question though!
@jamessaldutti56479 жыл бұрын
norman james Hi Norman. I'm afraid we are not qualified to provide you with a solution. We are absolutely novices who are lucky we got this job done. I would refer you to the Kawasaki Vulcan Forums where there are folks who could advise you. Nod to RACNRAY (you will find his posts on the Kawasaki Vulcan forums) out of Florida. That guy knows his stuff. Good luck!

Cobras sound nice!!! Out of curiosity, why did you decide to put money into to Kawasaki oppose to the Harley? Why choose Kawasaki?
@jamessaldutti56478 жыл бұрын
Hi Allen. Several reasons for choosing Kawasaki over Harley. After much research, owners of the Vequero and Nomad were very happy. A very good and comfortable ride, liquid cooled, V twin, with cruise control included. The overall price and with 0% financing was hard to beat too. Overall I am very happy with the bike. Thanks for your question!

I ride a 2000 model year VN1500 Nomad..100 mile round trip to work twice a week.. been cross country at least 7 times, over 103,000 miles with no major repairs.. change oil, tires and replaced clutch every 35 - 40,000 miles..i am buying the VN1700 Voyager ( vaquero type , only with tall windshield and travel trunk) within months. Paid $7,000 for the 1500 with 5,300 miles, 15 years ago. I found a 2012 Voyager for $7,350 with 16,000 miles likely keep it 15 years too. My son bought a new Street Glide 2 years ago for $22,500. If you gotta have that 'image' , you actually pay for it, but if you wanna rumble and ride for years..get what you want.

Thanks for your comment! Do you mean the triovals? Yes, I do think they sound better now that I've had them for several months. They are less metalic sounding and slightly more throaty. Full throttle on the road both bikes now sound close to identical in both of our opinions.
