Youre a life saver. Crashed my 650 yesterday and got my Brakepedal twisted hard
@casualtactician95374 ай бұрын
I just did it you will need a 21mm and a 24mm socket two socket wrenches and or impact driver a set of Allen keys metric you bang out the swing arm bolt from left to right I used my breaker bar it’s the same diameter roughly to the bolt to keep the swing arm in line and just bang out the breaker bar with the bolt from right to left when you put it back together (be mindful it has threads when you do it) just pay attention to how everything comes off like the springs but it’s not hard I did it in a hr by myself and the right tools always makes for a quicker job

Hello, thanks for your comment. Do you know the required clamping torque? Also, do you know if I need to use a car jack underneath? Thank you.

Sorry guys for being unclear in the video. I didn't have much experience filming while working on the bike, but I made this video because when I wanted to replace mine, I couldn't find anything good on KZbin showing how to do it. That's why I tried to film how I did the replacement. Upon reviewing the video, I noticed that I removed the bolt twice. The first time it was a bit easier, and I can't recall why I reinserted it. However, the second time was a bit trickier to remove. To take it out, I used the same tool I used to loosen the screw and a hammer to tap on it so I could pull it out. It's important to have a lift under the motor. I used the lift that comes with the car for changing spare tires. I didn't show how I placed the lift because I didn't want to reveal that I didn't have proper tools. I only engage in such tasks when necessary. It would have cost me around $800 to take it to the workshop, but I replaced it with items I bought for around $100. 😄😁😁

Hey, at 1:43 did you only use that one tool to remove that bolt? Exact thing happened to me but I can't seem to get the bolt off.

Sorta same question.. I got the nut off the left side but could only get the bar out a few inches after.

@prestontaylor5176 ай бұрын
@@michaelmolle8070 it’s all got to do with the pressure you have on the swing arm bolt. We used something to help push it through. But if it doesn’t come right out then when you take it out it will come unaligned. So keep that in mind

Where did you put the scissor Jack?
@prestontaylor5176 ай бұрын
To anybody that’s trying to figure out how to get the wing arm bolt out: if it’s stuck then you don’t have the frame lifted properly to get it out. Adjust and try again. If you manage to get it out before properly lifting then the swing arm will come unaligned once it’s out. And it’s a complete bitch to get it back in. Thats my experience with this fix. If you do it wrong it’s so much harder. Use a jack of some sort to lift the frame from under
@MaxAInnovation6 ай бұрын
Thanks for your explanation, Absolutely agree with you! Having a lift properly positioned under the motor is crucial for removing the wing arm bolt smoothly. If it's not lifted correctly, it can indeed make the process much more difficult and may even lead to misalignment issues, as you've experienced. Thanks for sharing your insights and advice! Using a jack or some sort of lift to elevate the frame from underneath is definitely the way to go.
