@Wilks89 I hear the K&N actually hurts the performance on the ZZR600. Apparently you have to go back and retune the carbs when you have a higher air flow with the K&N. I'm not doing that yet, so I went with ORM instead. Maybe next time.
@camaro9235015 жыл бұрын
Nice job man, I thought it would be a little harder. I think I'm going to do that to my '05 zzr600 pretty soon. Thanks for the helpful tutorial video.

@ToastToGo Good. Keep riding. Don't stop. Enjoy the spring!

@Zavochkin Don't you have to disassemble the bike just as much if the bike was naked? I mean, I didn't have to touch any fairings or anything. But yeah, that was the first time I changed the air filter since I purchased the bike. So I had just about 10,500 miles on the old filter. Yikes!
@ToastToGo15 жыл бұрын
@DoomXexec311 Nice. Changing the air filter is one of the cheaper things for maintenance that makes a noticeable difference. It did for me at least.
@ToastToGo15 жыл бұрын
@laviedamie Nah, it was OEM. The thing with carb'ed bike is that if you get a higher breathing K&N filter along with a higher breathing exhaust, you've gotta retune your carbs in order for it to run smooth and not hurt the engine. I didn't want to do that just yet so I didn't go with an aftermarket air filter. Maybe next time. Fuel injected bikes like yours I believe adjusts the fuel/air ration on it's own when something like a K&N air filter is changed.
@ToastToGo14 жыл бұрын
@SshNinja It was carbon fiber, yes. It was just a little thin face plate piece that goes over top the triple tree cover. I ordered it off ebay. It's called a "yoke cover"
@ToastToGo11 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked the vid. 8-) I think my sense of humor has changed because I feel like my earlier videos were better/funnier than my current stuff...could be wrong though. Appreciate it...would have definitely been cool to ride around with ya when I still had my ZZR.
@ToastToGo12 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure exactly, but I believe you're supposed to check it every 10k miles or something. Also depends on the conditions you ride in, too.
@wootang746911 жыл бұрын
Great video I will be using it to change my filter (05). Would you make a video on removing, cleaning, and re-installing the carbs. My bike sat for a while and now the carbs are gunked up.
@WilksMotovlogs15 жыл бұрын
Why not go with a K&N air filter vice the OEM? With you Yoshi exhaust, seems like the aftermarket would help the bike breath better.
@samkobe812 жыл бұрын
where or how did you make your rear seat compartment like that cool to store a small tool box and papers?

I just did my air filter cleaning on my ninja 650r.. gotta edit the video before i post :p nice work
@ToastToGo15 жыл бұрын
@camaro92350 Appreciate it. It made a noticeable difference with a new clean air filter. My bike no longer hesitates at 5k rpm and the power band feels more linear. It was easier than I thought it would have been also. Definitely something you should do to your bike after the old air filter gets a lot of miles on it.

Oh yeah, some modern supersports have NO storage under the seat. The ZZR600 had really nice seat storage. When I was selling my bike, that was one of the main things the new owner was looking for...nice under seat storage lmao.

And oh yeah! The Mustang...I do miss that car. My aunt gave it to me for a little while and it started giving me car troubles and couldn't get it fixed, so I ended up giving it back to her so she could do whatever she wanted with it. She has now given it to her kid neighbor in exchange for him to mow her yard and such since she lives alone. He's been working on it but it's still not running right. So I actually still see the Mustang from time to time when I visit my aunt's place and sometimes the car is in the driveway depending on where they're working on it.

@ToastToGo Im jus messin with ya man. ;) You know ive always loved your bike good sir. It is the one and ONLY bike that did make me consider going with a carbed bike again. Before i bought my F4I i had looked at a ZZR and thought theyre really a fairly good deal pricewise an when i saw the blue i really liked it. 1 of the only sportbikes thats more upright like my F4I is too.

@cashstore1 I have been enjoying the spring. The bike runs a lot smoother now with a new air filter. But there is so much pollen out right now, I'm afraid I'm going to clog my air filter again a lot sooner. And all the pollen is getting in my contacts hah. That takes a little bit of the enjoyment out of riding right now :)

Oh whoops! Yeah that's definitely a risk when they have the fuel line routed this way and the petcock set rigid onto the underside of the tank. Also, if the fuel line tore, it's possible it was time for a replacement fuel line anyway, so that instance helped you get a fresh part on the bike! Hope you got everything square away!
