They used to have a raft that you can go under the water fall.. it brings back memories when my toe nail lift off from my toe. Good thing they emergency kit and anti septic solution. Enjoy guys..

I've been there 4 time and honestly, my first visit was the best. Roads to the falls weren't paved yet then and there waan't much establishments. The streams were even crystal clear. Still magnificent though by the looks of it from your vlog.

Back then it was just small makeshift huts were there though the water is still fantastic till today 💦 There're a few less touristy falls in the area & you can ask around the locals. it's so rare to find kawasan falls with no people in it these days, i remember going there in the early 2000s there were no developments back then just pure nature :)

That's a lie. On my first visit back in 1991, there were already nipa huts (not big colored parasols), some wooden tables and chairs for rent, the same house that still stands today that also offers overnight stay. What was absent in 1991 were the parasols, tables and chairs and lockers on the other side across the big house. The multi-storey house by the falls was already there in 1991 and just like today, it also offered accommodation back then. In the second level back in 1991, there were also room accommodations in cottages. So commercialization was already in place in 1991 and probably so way before it. It's not surprising because Kawasan Falls is the most accessible and biggest waterfall system in Cebu.

You can't do something about the Kawasan's commercialization because it's the most accessible as well as the biggest waterfall complex in Cebu. So it's natural that it is also the most popular to most visitors of all ages. But since Cebu has over 112 major waterfall systems (more than any other provinces in the Philippines), try to explore other waterfalls which are far more remote (but accessible still via scooter/short trek) but just as beautiful if not more beautiful than Kawasan Falls. Just like Kawasan Falls, most other waterfalls in Cebu also have multiple levels with multiple waterfalls and cascades and also host clear and clean turquoise blue pools for swimming and jumping. Just a few minutes from Kawasan Falls, head up to the mountains of Alegria and find the enchanting Cambais Falls and Cancalanog Falls and you'd swear you've found paradise on earth.

Dogs deserve unconditional treatment from humans. And they're the only animals that can read your mind and please you without asking in return. Even if you hurt them, after a few minutes they'd approach you and look you in the eyes as if telling you it's okay, no hurt feelings.

Your right man, those small stall there and store is so annoying. They have leave the nature alone. The local must waive at least 20 meters from the waterfalls to preserve its prestine condition and settings.

Yup the church lot is the parking area. Me, a local from Manila, also was asked to pay P50 for the parking. My water shoes got ruined while walking to the falls so I bought flip flopsat one of the stores leading to the falls. Dont know what your experience was but I really had a hard time doing the hike to the upper levels then goin down in flip flops. Very slippery. Got blisters on my feet afterwards. Very cold water I agree.

All of her bikes are in great condition and they are honestly amazing to work with. I think you technically do but it was never an issue for us. Just be careful with the buses...they’re kind of crazy lol

Yeah the walk to the falls looks amazing but when you do get there, the chairs and building kinda ruins the look. I do hope they figure out a better way of balancing both money and nature.

@@ChaseforAdventure oh yeah the path leading was well made while giving that vibe of being part of the jungle. It's the buildings infornt of the waterfalls just screems I dont belong here. 😅 In fact. I was thinking of moving the tables way back like close to where the traditional house was and just leave the waterfalls by all its glory with some benches. It might take people a few steps to go back to the waterfalls, but that would bring out all its beauty.

The land in front of kawasan falls where they built house and has a restaurant is privately owned. I heard that the officials are still negotiating with the stubborn owner (what a lucky daughter to inheret that place). Our gov’t wants to demolish the establishments in front of the falls.

There are so many stray Dogs of all breeds b/c they really don't control and neuter the population and thankfully don't gather and euthanize them. But they can scavenge for themselves and the population tends to give them some food. So on the most part they are super friendly and don't fear humans unless they've been mistreated. Many are "adopted" like your friend did and they hang around b/c they know they can get food, but they are not officially owned b/c then you have to take care of them like a pet with shots etc. Usually then they have collars and tags if owned. I love the dogs there but with American mentality you want to take of as many as possible lol

Thank you so much for the information friend! What we do in America is get them off the streets, give them a place to stay with food/play/baths and they get adopted. At least That is how my family has gotten our dogs. I’m sure there are, unfortunately, many dogs that get put down 😭

Thankfully there are so many untouched waterfalls I don’t think we could ever run out lol plus on a positive it does give those who may be physically limited the ability to see something in nature they wouldn’t have!

Why? What happened to the surroundings? Do you have a vision problem? Can't you see the lush greenery, even on the banks of the stream and up to the falls? Have you been to other falls in the country? Can't you see that the moment you step onto the path going to Kawasn Falls from the highway, the beautiful nature greets you already? Can you see the same in other waterfalls in other places with similar accessibility? Hell, no. Kawasan Falls is not stuck in the middle of a dense jungle. It's very accessible to people of all ages so it's natural that people need to provide space for visitors either to eat, sit and place their stuff. Cebu has more than 112 major waterfall systems and only Kawasan Falls with such development for its horde of visitors everyday. Despite the structures, the surroundings are still untouched, no trees felled, no rocks or mountainside bulldozed, the trail is natural. The only unnatural in Kawasan Falls are the houses and parasols and the facilities for the visitors's safety and comfort.
