This might help. They're not F words, but rather WH words. F as a letter doesn't exist in the language of Te Reo Māori, both spoken nor written. In some regions of Aotearoa-New Zealand, WH is pronounced with the W sound as one would expect, but in others phonetically closer to an F sound. Whenua (land) in example f-nuu-ah. It's not shady but 'whakamua tōtika' (Straight forward), a difference in language. An interesting aside. In the language there are actually no foul language words. We can insult and be insulted in the language. Just that it requires more spoken creativity, communicating it.
