Loved the review. Your perspective is of the true end user and lay person who doesn’t let the hobby go too far, keeping it 💯 per cent fun and stimulating. The youtube review thing has pushed some reviewers too far. It is obvious their plans are over and beyond the limits of the hobby and this impacts the usefulness of their take, at least to a lay person like me. Thanks again.

Thank you! It's not easy. I occasionally find myself contemplating the purchase of a pen just because I want to review it. Then I'll usually ask myself, "What am I thinking? I don't even like that pen!" The fact that I have a daughter about to begin graduate school and another daughter who will probably want to go to college in a couple years also helps me keep things in perspective.

I didn't know reverse writing was a thing. I bought a fountain pen recently and it had a thicker nib than I would have liked. So, I started scouring the internet for a Kaweco pen that's not small. Watching your video and realising that reverse writing is possible made me love my new pen. Thank you!

This is the pen I use on my man in black days. Black leather jacket, black levi jeans, black shirt, not forgetting the black facial expression and to top it all, an all black (including the nib) fountain pen. Perfect all round grimness

Yes, I totally agree with you about Perkeo ! I think this great nib deserves a better body from Kaweco ! (unfortunately it won't fit on a Sport pen .... )

Convinced me to choose the Perkeo over the sport first. The all black looks really nice.

Hello, enjoy your vids. You can get clips. I have Kaweco pencils and fountain pens and I have clips for all; gold, brass or silver are available. I enjoy that you use your pens in everyday work life, I haven't been able to be as successful on that front. I try but the fountain pen will disappoint, hard start or just dried up when I need it, or a big blob in my notebook, or getting the fountain pen paper at a reasonable price to justify it, when other supplies come free from work. I always justify getting another fountain pen by telling myself I can use it for work to make my life happier but then when I don't get what I want from the pen, when I need it to just function, my happiness is compromised by lack of efficiency, but I do keep trying.

When fountain pens don't work properly it is frustrating. Have you tried any fountain pens from Pilot? I have found them to be very reliable. I have also had good luck with Faber Castell. I hope you find a nice pen that works well for you.

I happen to have two Perkeos (one in fine and one in medium) and both are great writers. When it comes to Sports, only one out of my two is pleasant.

Looks like the Lamy safari plastic. I ordered one in jungle green. Nice to see it in action!

I've never used a Safari, but I get the impression that this is a "cheaper" feeling plastic on the Perkeo. I don't mind though because I enjoy the nib and the overall writing experience.

@@gadgetstop321 that’s all that matters really! I have a student Kaweco that I enjoy very much and about 10 of the Kaweco sports which include some metal versions. I probably have a version of every nib size including stub and double broad and I love them all! ;)

I don't have a Kaweco Sport clip, but I compared the caps of my Kaweco Sport and the Perkeo, and they seem to have different diameters.
@inkiron39074 жыл бұрын
Nite Ize makes a product called the “Hip Clip” that may work as an aftermarket clip... though possibly too wide. A Kaweco sport clip would also be a possible solution. I like the look of this pen but the lack of clip would bug me too!
@gadgetstop3214 жыл бұрын
I've learned from using this pen for a while that unless it is a small pocket pen I need my pens to have a clip. The only thing that concerns me about the Kaweco clip is I'm worried that sliding it on and off would scratch the pen.

Nice review ! My question is, can you change out the nib of Perkeo with Kaweco caligraphy nib ?
@rafaelmagallanesquintanar5 жыл бұрын
I love Kaweco pens. The Perkeo was my first Kaweco. Now I have several Sport and a Liliput too. Particularly, the Perkeo is a great and very light pen, my concern was loose it but I have put a Sport silver clip on it and works great with it. The clip slides a little bit tight but works like a charm. You should try and use your Perkeo more often.
@gadgetstop3215 жыл бұрын
Now that I know that the Sport Clip will work on the Perkeo, I'll have to give it's try.

Thanks for your review. I've never been keen on the design (or the colours) of the Kaweco Perkeo. I have lots of Sport pens which I love, but the Perkeo doesn't really appeal to me.

These scribes are ridiculously inexpensive, Cathy; OK, it' s a plastic (but robust) construction; the clip is, I suspect, not a major deal breaker. Here in Europe, only a Medium is sold with the pen - however, you can purchase spare nibs if you desire a finer or broader line - but that will (obviously) transform this into a more expensive writing instrument; as you assert, it's a fantastic starter for anyone who's interest is piqued by fountain pen usage. Great presentation !!

Only from M nib? No fine? 😮
@andrewtongue7084 Жыл бұрын
Not in Europe, no; I suspect that if you purchased from a retailer in the US, you may be able to obtain a Fine nib.

Does anyone else find the nibs are very fine. I just got my fine perkeo and it felt like an ef way thinner line than Lamy fine. I'm not complaining but just didn't know it I had a problem.

I noticed that too!!

It's Lamy that makes them thicker than most other brands, but there's no real standard unfortunately.

I have three Perkeos, but only use one. The Old Chambray in medium. Excellent writer. The All Black and Light Spring just not good writers.
@MiguelGonzalez3654 жыл бұрын
My Perkeo wasn't a good writer. After two months of research, I discovered the problem. A failure in quality control meant that some nibs were misplaced. If you look, the M or F under the logo is almost hidden by the section. On the other hand, there are units where it appears about 3 mm outwards. These are the ones that cause problems, especially regarding ink flow. In my desperation, after a thousand attempts, I took out the nib and feed, washed it, and when I reassembled it, I saw that the M was closer to the section. That was the end of my problems, the Perkeo changed radically, it was now wet and an excellent writer. I did a Google search and saw that there were some badly mounted nibs. If you go to Jetpens' website, you can see that the black model has the nib badly placed.
@stargazer13594 жыл бұрын
@@MiguelGonzalez365 I will check that out. Like I said, the first one writes like a champion. I regularly take my pens apart clean & adjust. But, the black & light spring I just threw in a box. Time to revisit.
@fahimaalfarabi16462 жыл бұрын
Such a great looking pen! But it's a waste with such a small ink capacity. Why don't they make bigger converters for these pens? Other companies are doing it. Lamy for instance has a nice capacity for inks and they come free with the mid-range pens.
@LisePlansandJournals Жыл бұрын
This one holds the standard size converter. Maybe youre thinking of the Kaweco sports which are the mini converters. This Perkeo holds the same size as the Lamy you love.

@@LisePlansandJournalsYou're right! I find that kaweco pens have superior nibs than the lamy pens now. Gonna get a parkeo soon. But I do wish they made a piston filler or vac version of these perfect pens!
