This is definitely the most melodious and ethereal album in the Kaya Project discography. For those that are diehard fans of the Project's heavy percussion-at-the-forefront sound, this branch out may not be for everyone, but I personally love it when great musicians dabble and try something new. Also, I can actually work with this album playing in the background (except when Track #13 kicks in). The early albums are great as well, but I can't actually get work done while they're playing. What is your favorite Kaya Project album?

After listening to the album several times, I would say that Shiva Shankara has the most "staying power", and it also had struck a chord with me after my first listen like many other commenters in here. Honorable mention to Rain Bless Earth, track #5, and lately track #9, Forgive has been growing on me.

It is my understanding that Randolph Matthews (track #2 and #10) is not using a real language, kind of like what Bobby McFerrin does, except with McFerrin you know that it's gibberish, but Matthews makes it sound like a real language. Mikhailova is Russian but she does a lot of chanting, so again a lot of her stuff may not be a real language. Marco De Luca I have to believe is Italian (#14). Both Badar (#6) and Psibindi (#15) have Indian roots, so I would think that those are most likely Indian languages. "World" music in the truest sense.
