Ha, I have been toying with this idea for the past 6 months or so! Thanks for the validation of concept. Now, I have moved on to using the much higher mAmp-hour car jumpstart packs that are widely available on Amazon and other sources. I just got mine a month ago for $60, and it has 15 Amp-hours, which is more than 2x as long as my old riding mower traditional battery. An added benefit of the jumpstart batteries is that many of them have micro-USB outlets too for charging phones and tablets. The serious downside to this solution and your solution is that the connections are not water resistant (despite the supposed IP-87 rating on my jumpstarter), and in my rough water Pacific Ocean use, that is a serious consideration.

Nice job! Clean install. Only issue for me is these batteries don't have enough AH's to run what I need to run in a day. My battery in my Pro Angler isn't easy for me to get to on the water to swap out a battery. I believe this will work for lots of folks.

You can produce several 12v solutions out of the li-ion batteries there's on ebay. Most of them will effort more then 30amps

The beauty of this system is the light weight, ease in transporting extra batteries and quick to swap out on the water.

Mind your output! The voltage and amperage must be compatible with the device, or there will be serious tears shed....
