Landed a 5lb LM today (my PB since getting into kayak fishing this year). I had a net but was worried I would lose the fish when I reached for it. Was able to lip it at the boat thanks to this video. Thanks!

What about big fish? I lost a huge bass this past Saturday. Had my rod up and away like you demonstrate in this video. The fish flapped hard and bent the hook right out of its mouth/lip. I was devastated! My friend and I both saw this bass and it had to be at least 5lbs. Any advice?

I took my buddy and his brother fishing yesterday, second time for my buddy first time for his brother. We were catching little 1lbers all day and they kept reeling in all the line like that. It was something I had to keep reminding them about, but it definitely makes a difference between catches and losses at the boat, even for the little ones. I was rewarded for my patience, I caught a 6lb and 5lb in consecutive casts near the end of the day. They had fun, and I caught my new PB. Great tip, I love these short little vids. They are perfect to help teach others.

Great tip, it sure makes things a whole lot easier, especially when you have a big fish on. I learned my lesson making that mistake when I had a Wels Catfish on when I was in Germany.

What about 8 plus lb fish? I was standing in a not so stable yak, and the combo of the fish pulling me to it and me reeling I came in to fast and the line went between the paddle and the yak. Then I panicked and tried to boatflip it and the hooks ripped out.
