Here in Colorado, we have a bit of a problem like this where people (from either out of state, or have moved from the city) will buy a cabin/house in the woods that happens to be on an access road for the national forest, and they think they can do things like put up gates and call the Sheriff or the Forest Service to complain about OHVs going past their house. The trouble starts when those of us that use the nat'l forest understand that they have gated a county road and fire access, so we go through the gate and they come storming out of their house with their phone in hand writing down license plate #s and calling the cops. It's occasionally fun to have the cops actually come and tell the property owner they do not have a right to restrict access to a county road. Mainly the county and FS LEOs don't have time to babysit the city folk and tell them to call when there is an actual reason. (this is where the Boy who cried wolf story would come in handy)

So the wade fishing laws depend on the state. Here in OH, the water is public, but the river or stream bottom is not. Landowners own the bottom of the river or stream from the edge of the bank to the midpoint of river or stream. If you are kayak fishing, no problem. But if you are wade fishing, you are on their property, and the game officials here will ticket you for trespassing. Maybe that will help someone who reads this avoid a ticket. And always check local and state regulations before you fish somewhere new.

As you can imagine, there are only certain places you can park something that big. The best spot is near this guys property. It's the same place boats have been parking since the lock was built 70 years ago. Now this guy thinks he has the right to bich about it. That would be like buying a house next to train tracks then trying to stop the trains because they are loud.

I owned in a condo. Our state requires the developer to leave a minimum amount of green space. For our condo development, it was a small lake. Just like all land in a condo development, I was an equal owner of that lake. I paid property tax on my share of the lake. My homeowners association fees included liability insurance for the lake. And we each were issued the rules of use for the lake including no parties, no gasoline motors, etc. And yet, some yo-yo called the cops saying that HE owned the lake and that I was trespassing in my kayak. The cop was not interested in facts. Would not identify my accuser. I was guilty simply because someone made a false complaint. The cop insisted that I leave. Fortunately, the cop was not willing to swim after me.

It's almost insufferable. I'm from Wyoming and in the day we could pretty near go anywhere we wanted. In the last 25 years people have gone out of their way to block off access increasingly, even from federal lands. The people who do this are either old money ranchers whose dependence on government subsidies aren't enough and they get in the outfitters business, often blocking off thousands of acres of federal and state land, or, they're transplants from some other state, and they decide they're going to assume the role of gate keeper. It's very sad.

I was fishing along the shoreline outta the way minding my business and I seen a boat coming up to me with them saying to get the fuck off the river and get a real boat then the took off real fast and tried to swamp me! Happened so fast I couldn't believe it. Funny thing is a sherif boat was coming around the bend and seen them do it and taken off after them and later came by me and asked if everything was ok and said they got a citation for being in a no wake zone and harassing a boater lol . Told them what they did and he said if I got swamped he would of taken them in! So crazy they would take there time and go outta the way to do something stupid like that! Love watching your vids !
