My dad and I used to forget things a lot going fishing including the bung for the boat a couple of times! Apple cores come in very handy as a makeshift bung!!! We finally decided to do a boat checklist which we put on the lid of the top of the storage drum in niko pen. Worked like a treat !!!! No more forgetfulness ........

Loving your content Clay. Pepin Island would be an epic Island to fish around. Andrew Newton the farmer on the Island would be very welcoming. Could even stay at fisherman hutt.

So enjoy the Fisherman's life song. :). I can imagine that it surely does feel special to eat food that you harvest and catch yourself. Wonderful time spent with your son as well. A good giggle about the forgotten knife but have to tell ya, while fishing it is better to forget the balls than the knife! Haha! Thanks for sharing your fishing trip! :) :)

You can make a really really great and potent fish fertilizer with your heads/carcasses. It's a Korean natural farming technique called FAA or Fish Amino Acid. It's really really great stuff but takes a long time to make, but worth it. It's a fertilizer and you can make fish sauce from it because it will be fermented! What you do get a bucket with a sealed lid, take your discarded heads/frames etc and weigh them. Then add equal weight brown sugar and mix through in the bucket. Top off with brown sugar over the mixture so no fish is visible. Seal and date the bucket and wait 6-9 months. You won't regret it because you'll end up with potent fertilizer and the base to make fermented fish sauce 👍🏻
